OPI Nicki Minaj Fly under OPI Save Me

hi! can't believe it's already Thursday, my husband had off this week and it has just flown by... so i have OPI Nicki Minaj Fly! haha... sorry, i had to! lame lame lame, i know! :) i layered it with OPI Save Me, also from the Minaj collection.

Fly is like nothing else i have in my collection, it's an awesome bluey teal cream. it was ridiculous to get the true color to photograph, this is as close as i could get. in real life, it's a shade or so darker and leans more teal. formula wasn't that great, i used four coats,  but i probably could have gotten away with three. i'm really psychotic about not being able to see nail lines, i also like my nails to look a little thick because *sadly* i have really thin nails that are prone to peel and break. on top i used one coat of Seche Vite.

i was a little disappointed with Save Me. i was hoping it would be like OPI Servin' Up Sparkle which has round holographic glitter in varying sizes. i tried to build it up to opaque on its own... and i eventually got there, but i have no idea how many coats it took. HUGE waste of the polish, had to get a backup because i'd used so much! layering a couple coats of Servin' over a silver metallic gives the same effect without all the coats. Save Me has holo bar glitter but it's base is tiny silver round glitter... i think this could easily be built up to be opaque on its own... but the wow factor of the holo is missing. the bars also wanted to hang off the tips of my nails, which was frustrating because i had to smush them back onto the nail. if anyone wants to see a comparison of Save Me and Servin' Up Sparkle, let me know! this is one coat over Fly and topped off with one coat of Seche Vite.

overall, i do think these colors are worth getting, i really haven't seen anything like either of these from OPI in years. Fly is definitely a jaw dropper!

Ria :)
