OPI Thanks A Windmillion vs. OPI Mermaid's Tears

such a bummer, i didn't get to see my sibs today :( it snowed here last night... but it was a wet slushy snow which froze on the roads this morning. plus, one of my brothers ended up working. we're just going to re-schedule for when my husband gets home for Japan!

today we are comparing two polishes, OPI Thanks A Windmillion (2012 Holland collection) versus OPI Mermaid's Tears. these polishes are pretty similar, but they are not even close to being dupes. both are dusty, minty creams and they both have a great formula, opaque at two coats. i do actually prefer MT, it's much lighter and does not have the strong greY undertones of TAW. TAW is a far more subtle nail polish, if you don't like nails that scream 'LOOK AT ME!', you will probably really like this one... especially if you are hesitant to jump in the deep end of green polish. this will get you used to seeing some green on your nails and prepare you for more saturated colors such as Zoya Gemma!

one coat Seche Clear, two coats TAW and MT, one coat Seche Vite.

you don't NEED both colors, but if you like heathery greens, i think you should go for it. last Holland collection polish tomorrow, i'll have my final impressions on the whole collection as well as reviewing Kiss Me On My Tulips! Ria :)
