Orly Synchro

today i went to get my hair fixed... it had gotten messed up a couple months ago and was a terrible mess of blonde, black, and red. i like for the top of my head to kind of look like a candy cane with thick stripes of red and blonde... but it didn't come out right and there was too much blonde... and to make matters worse, the red bled all into it and become a sad pink. the stylist i went to said there was so much and damage and mess that the best she recommend would be to do an all over fairly dark color. so, for the first time in years and years, i have very dark hair! it's a purpley red that's dimensional because of all the different colors i had, which caused the dyed parts to stay different colors. i'm trying to adjust, looking in the mirror is still quite a shock!

today's polish is Orly Synchro, another installment of the Electronica collection. i have swatches of it by itself and over Orly Decoded :)

by itself, Synchro is mauvey pink with a sparkly blue duochrome effect. the overall finish is decidedly frosty. the red has strong brown undertones and is strongest color of the polish. i used three coats... it was pretty opaque at two, but the overall tone was better with three coats.

one coat Orly Nailtrition, three coats Synchro, one coat Seche Vite.

this next swatchie is over Orly Decoded... and i much prefer this polish layered. i used two coats of it for this mani, and i really love the effect it gives. over the dark greY, the blue takes on much more of a dominant role. i finished it all off with one coat of Seche Vite!

i wasn't sure whether i was going to want to recommend this polish, but i definitely do for use as a layering polish! it's okay on its own, but it's just not nearly as beautiful as when it's on top of a darker color! Ria :)
