China Glaze Hologlam... Not In This Galaxy

Happy Easter, everyone! i hope you've all had a great day :) Mr. Pawlish and i went to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch and then just hung around the house... a nice, relaxing day. he goes back to school tomorrow, i'm going to miss having him hang out with me at the barn!

today's China Glaze Hologlam polish is Not In This Galaxy (kindly provided for review!). it's a peachy pink with a medium-subtle linear holographic finish. the formula is opaque in two coats and easy to work with if you wipe the brush off well before application. make sure to shake the bottle and mix up all the holo pigments before use! like the rest of this collection, topcoat simply adds shine and doesn't dull the holographic effect at all.

two coats Not In This Galaxy, one coat China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat (also provided for review!)

the color is a little more orange and a little less bright than my camera could capture!

the China Glaze Hologlam collection retails for $14.00 and can found at fine salons and beauty supply stores in April 2013! check out www.ChinaGlaze.com to find out more!

i hope that all of you have had great weekends and are refreshed for the new week! Ria :)

China Glaze Hologlam... Get Outta My Space

nothing exciting to report today, we had lunch at our favorite local restaurant and then went grocery shopping. it's now pouring down rain, i'm hoping it stops so we can take the dogs out to lunch with us tomorrow! however, the forecast is for thunderstorms, so we'll to wait and see what the morning brings :)

today's China Glaze Hologlam polish is Get Outta My Space (kindly provided for review!). it's a lavender with a light linear holographic finish. make sure to shake the bottle up really well to mix up all the holo particles and get the strongest effect on the nail! the formula is opaque in two coats and not too difficult to work with, just make sure to wipe the brush off well before application! a coat of topcoat will add a nice shine and not dull the holographic effect at all... perfection.

two coats Get Outta My Space, one coat China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat (also provided for review!).

the China Glaze Hologlam collection retails for $14.00 and can found at fine salons and beauty supply stores in April 2013! check out www.ChinaGlaze.com to find out more!

China Glaze Hologlam... OMG A UFO

rode Aramis bareback today! riding bareback is so cool, you really feel all the horse's muscles move, it's pretty amazing. my trainer gave me an amazing bareback pad which makes his back so much less slippery! i spent a long time working on my sitting trot, it's getting better :D i'm now super, super sore though... my body is like WHAT was THAT?! totally worth it!

today's China Glaze Hologlam is OMG A UFO (kindly provided for review!). it's an olive green with a subtle linear holographic finish. i love that it's an olive green, i don't have any other polishes like this one. make sure to wipe the brush off well before applying to the nail, the formula on this one is a little tricky. however, it's opaque in only two coats! topcoat adds a nice shine and doesn't dull the holo effect at all, which is always wonderful.

two coats OMG A UFO, one coat China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat (also provided for review!).

i hope you all have a fantastic weekend! Mr. Pawlish and i are just going to hang around home i think... let him vegetate before he starts his new semester on Monday! Ria :)

China Glaze Hologlam... When Stars Collide

got my lab work done today... that was the fastest wait i've ever had in a place like that! i guess i lucked out :) since it's Mr. Pawlish's vacation week, i didn't make him go to the barn with me to let Aramis graze... he's been such a good sport about watching me ride all week! instead we took a couple things to Tiffany to be repaired (i think i wrote about how i busted my bracelet in the refrigerator... yikes). i've been needing to drop them off since we moved here, and i always forget about it! i can't wait to finally be able to wear my jewelry again :)

today's China Glaze Hologlam polish is When Stars Collide (kindly provided to me for review!). i have nothing remotely like this in my collection, it's a stunner. it's a rich plum with a medium-subtle linear holographic finish. this had really great coverage at one coat, and at two it was absolute perfection. a coat of topcoat will bring out all the shine and not dull the holo effect at all!

two coats When Stars Collide, one coat China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat (also provided for review!).

the China Glaze Hologlam collection retails for $14.00 and can found at fine salons and beauty supply stores in April 2013! check out www.ChinaGlaze.com to find out more!

even if you aren't planning on picking up the whole collection, i would put this one on the to buy list for sure! Ria :)

China Glaze Hologlam... Sci-Fly By

such a beautiful day today! it was the perfect day for a riding lesson, and i'm glad to report i didn't fall off or anything do anything else to make the day less than great :D Aramis got shots today, so he'll probably be a bit sore tomorrow... and i have to get some blood work done in the morning, so i might not go to the barn tomorrow. getting blood work done is so annoying, because even when you have an appointment you have to wait forever... what's up with that?!

today's China Glaze Hologlam collection polish is Sci-Fly By (kindly provided to me for review!). it's a light blue with a linear holographic finish. it's another fairly subtle holo, but not subtle enough that you'd miss it entirely! make sure not to brush over the same spots overmuch, it will drag and bald fairly easily because it dries so quickly. it's opaque in only two coats, which is really nice! a coat of topcoat will add a nice shine to the finish :)

two coats Sci-Fly By, one coat China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat (also provided for review!)

the China Glaze Hologlam collection retails for $14.00 and can found at fine salons and beauty supply stores in April 2013! check out www.ChinaGlaze.com to find out more!

holographic is very much my favorite finish, so i'm super excited to have ten more Hologlams to share with you all! Ria :)

China Glaze Hologlam... Astro-Hot

it's so lovely having Mr. Pawlish home! he comes to the barn with me in the morning and then we have lunch together :) the doggies are delighted to have him home, too, of course!

today kicks off 12 days of China Glaze... their new Hologlam collection (kindly provided to me for review)! i have been looking forward to this collection for months, i'm so happy to have it. we're going to start out with Astro-Hot, a medium pink linear holo. it's not an in your face holographic effect, but it's still quite visible. this type of holo is quite chic, and i think would be work appropriate in many offices! make sure to really shake the bottle before application to distribute the holographic particles all throughout the polish. the formula is easy to work with and opaque in two coats... just make sure not to try and go over the same spot too many times, it dries quickly and that will drag up the polish. best news... topcoat doesn't dull the holo! i highly recommend using it to seal in the look and add shine as the finish is a bit dull.

two coats Astro-Hot, one coat China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat (also provided for review).

Sally Hansen complete Salon Manicure Greige Gardens

went riding this morning, then Mr. Pawlish surprised me by offering to take to me to my favorite Japanese restaurant for lunch! this was the first time we'd ever been there for lunch, the whole vibe was much more laid back than at dinner... but the food was just as amazing (AND priced cheaper for lunch!).

today's polish is Sally Hansen complete Salon Manicure Greige Gardens. it's a color i'd been lemming for awhile, and finally grabbed a couple weeks ago. it's a one of those colors you can't quite put a name to... greY, yet lavender, yet taupe... all in a yummy creme finish. the formula is a bit more watery than i prefer, but it was still opaque in only two coats. it dries nice and glossy on its own, so i added topcoat more as a drying agent!

two coats Greige Gardens, one coat Seche Vite.

tomorrow i'm going to start reviewing the China Glaze Hologlam collection which is made up completely of holographic finish polishes! i'm so thankful to have received the whole collection to share with you guys, i can't wait to start sharing swatches :D get ready for 12 days of China Glaze! Ria :)

Hard Candy Fireworks

Mama Pawlish made it to Virginia! turns out they're having a huge snow storm (at the end of March?! what?!), so it's crazy that they didn't close the airport. Mr. Pawlish and i took a little road trip today to go to a big tack store that's a couple hours away. i was really hoping to find a new bridle to use in dressage, but they didn't have exactly what i'm looking for... in the size i need it in! i did get a white pad and a black dressage whip, though... so at least those things are covered :)

today we have the last Hard Candy polish i received for review, Fireworks from their Crystal Confetti collection! it has loads of different sized and shaped red glitter pieces (including bar!) and medium sized blue hex pieces. this is all in a sheer, jelly-like reddish pink base. this is one of those polishes that sometimes looks completely red, and others it's clearly pink! because there is so much going on in this polish, i think you will be happy with the coverage at two coats... i was. if you really, really examine you might see some VNL, but it's difficult because all the different elements distract the eye. it goes on pretty easy with minimal need for placing... the biggest issue would be to make sure there aren't any pieces that are hanging off your nail tip... they are quite scratchy. this can easily be solved by gently pushing back at the polish while it's still tacky, but not extremely wet. i would add topcoat to make sure everything is smooth and make it all super shiny!

two coats Fireworks, one coat Seche Vite.

in this bright light you can really see how jelly-like the base is!

Hard Candy Lil Lilac

Mama Pawlish heads out tomorrow morning for Virginia... i'm sure going to miss her! we spent today getting her ready to go, she's a bit freaked out to have to pack so fast.  i personally always wait until i have to be on the plane to start packing (no matter how much notice i have!).

today we have Hard Candy Lil Lilac from their Itsy Glitzy collection (it was kindly sent to me for review!). this polish leans very pink on me, more of a light burgundy than lilac. it's shot through with loads of golden shimmer, giving it an almost duochrome effect! i only needed two thick coats for full opacity, which is always a nice surprise when you think a polish is going to be much more sheer :) one coat of topcoat seals it in and brings out all the sparkle!

two coats Lil Lilac, one coat Seche Vite.

and here's a shot in the shade... it's beautiful in any lighting!

Enjoy Hair & Skin Treatment Oil and Enjoy Intensive Hair & Skin Treatment Oil

got terrible news today... my grandmother is not doing very well and so Mama Pawlish is heading out to Virginia to help out. my grandmother's care helper found her on the floor this morning and called the EMTs... but she refused to go! clearly, she can't stay by herself anymore, but convincing her of that is going to be... not pretty. i'd really appreciate everyone's prayers and positive energy! :)

today i wanted to share a couple of my favorite hair products with you all, Enjoy Hair & Skin Treatment Oil and Enjoy Intensive Hair & Skin Treatment Oil. i use the Intensive Treatment right after i get out of the shower and my hair is still wet (it's much more thick than the original, so it applies more easily to wet hair!), and the regular treatment after my hair is dry. i use the regular most nights, it absorbs really well into hair. after my hair got really damaged from bleaching and was completely dry and falling out in hanks, these products were recommended to me by my California stylist... and i'm so glad! these oils are absolutely amazing, my hair is MUCH healthier now... plus, i can i just put oils in it and let it air dry and it's not frizzy, a first in my whole life!

i don't use either product as a skin treatment, but both make my hands feel nice after applying them in my hair. i also really love the scent of the regular, it's very citrusy!

the downer of these products is that they are quite spendy, the regular retailing around $30 and the Intensive around $45. to me, the results are completely worth the hefty price tag. plus, you don't need very much to do your whole head, i use less than a quarter sized amount!

here's a look a the bottles!

i love how Enjoy products are packaged to match up and form a complete star with complimentary products (like the same type of shampoo and conditioner!). i love stars and i'm just a sucker for cute packaging.

check out www.enjoyhaircare.com to find Enjoy salons and also learn about all their other products. i like to buy Enjoy at Ulta since i earn points there, of course!

let me know if there are other Enjoy products you'd like reviewed, they are my favorite hair care line! Ria :)

Hard Candy Fun N' Festive

i have a long bruise on my thumb because some idiot scraped a hoof pick down it. (spoiler alert... it was me!) i can't believe i did that... i especially can't believe i've done it multiple times :) i've determined that a job involving hammering nails is not something i want to pursue since i miss something as a big as hoof and hit my hand instead!

today's polish is Hard Candy Fun N' Festive from their Crystal Confetti collection (it was kindly sent to me for review!). it's a medium sheer green base full of large gold hex pieces, multiple sizes of red pieces, and loads of green micro-glitter. the glitter spreads out pretty evenly on the nail, the only trouble i had with it was a couple pieces that wanted to hang off the tips or stay too far at the base of the nail. these were easily pushed back into place, though! i was pleasantly surprised by how easily this polish built up to full opacity in only two coats! it dries a bit dull, so you'll definitely want to add a shine topcoat to the finished look.

two coats Fun N' Festive, one coat Seche Vite.

Hard Candy Crush On Lava

missed out on riding today, thanks to the weather loving to rain on Wednesdays! i do have a good story from yesterday, though, so i've got you covered :) i was cantering Aramis when he decided to freak out completely for no reason i could see... so we did a little stirrup-less cantering! yikes, i have no idea how i didn't fall off... horses' manes are quite handy. i'm sure i looked absolutely ridiculous hanging on for dear life and yelling 'TROT! TROT! TROT!'. happily, he slowed down and everything ended well. i dropped my whip in the chaos and didn't feel like getting off to go get it, so we cantered a bit without... until he was like... you don't have a whip! that means i don't have to work anymore! *sigh* we're getting there, though... used to be i couldn't make him trot without a whip and now that's no problem :)

today's polish is Hard Candy Crush On Lava from their Crushed Chromes collection (it was kindly sent to me for review!). i am in love with this polish! it's a burgundy to bronze duochrome in a foil finish... it's just gorgeous. it's one that i loved in the bottle and was so happy it translated nicely onto the nail. the formula is pretty good... it's sheer and patchy at one coat but evens out nicely and becomes opaque at coat two. i recommend adding a topcoat to seal it in and bring out all the shinies!

two coats Crush On Lava, one coat Seche Vite in bright light.

and in the shade!

i tried to buy some Hard Candy polishes today, but the racks were completely bare! not sure if they hadn't yet arrived at my Walmart or if they had just been completely picked clean. i'll check for them again next time i'm there... i definitely want all the Crushed Chromes! Ria :)

Hard Candy Sparked Up

nothing too exciting going on here this week, just the usual horseback riding everyday. of course, since that's what i've wanted to do my whole life, i guess that's pretty exciting :) the forecast's calling for rain on my lesson day again... i don't know what the weather has against Wednesdays!

today's polish is Hard Candy Sparked Up from their Glitteratzi collection, which i layered over Hard Candy Shot Of Lemon (both of these polishes were kindly sent to me for review!). Sparked Up is chock full of tiny blue bar glitter and micro-glitter, all in a clear base. it's really easy to work with and spread evenly over the nail with minimal effort... i only needed one coat for great coverage! this is one that would be quite difficult to build up to complete opacity. i added a shine topcoat over everything to seal it all in and bring out all the sparkles!

one coat Sparked Up, one coat Seche Vite, both over my Hard Candy Shot Of Lemon mani.

Hard Candy Shot Of Lemon

the FTC has changed the rules on disclosure for blogs, so now i have to be pretty careful in wording and making sure everybody knows right away when i've received a polish for review. it's a little nerve-wracking, but i'll figure it all out :)

i have another new Hard Candy polish today that a company rep was nice enough to send me for review! this one is Shot Of Lemon from their Itsy Glitzy collection, a beautiful shimmering, sheer yellow. it is quite sheer, so it's one i would gravitate towards using as a glaze rather than on its own, but i did get a fair amount of coverage in three coats. it is chock full of shimmer and it is always gleaming, even indoors! a coat of topcoat helps to make the polish even more shiny.

three coats Shot Of Lemon, one coat Seche Vite. there is a bit more visible nail line in real life than you can see in the photos!

here it is in the shade... i love how it looks!

A Little Saturday Haulage

i haven't been buying much lately, but i did pick up a few things over the past couple weeks... so, i thought i'd share them with you! i confess i was completely lazy today and slept mostly all day... it was the first day in weeks i had absolutely nothing to do so i took full advantage :D

we'll kick off with the most exciting thing i bought... three Benefit Ultra Shine glosses in a bargain set from Ulta for only $18! normally ONE gloss is $18, so i highly recommend picking these up... the only sad thing is that this line of gloss is being discontinued. i guess that's why they are bargain-barreling the prices!

they also were giving away a makeup bag with purchase that day... i'm not sure i really like it, though. i do love the little 'Bene-Doggy' bowl at the bottom, though :D

finally, i got a few Sally Hansen polishes on clearance, one full price that i just couldn't leave behind... and one lonely Essence :) the Essence is from Ulta, all the others i got from a military store. i'm super excited about the Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Black Tie... it's the full price one i couldn't leave behind with all its multi-chrome goodness!

i have six more Hard Candy polishes the company was kind enough to send me for review, those will coming up over the next week! Ria :)

Hard Candy Cotton Candy Pink

this week has really flown by, i can't believe it's already Friday!

today's polish is Hard Candy Cotton Candy Pink from their Candy Sprinkles collection, the sister polish to Hard Candy Sweet Tooth which has that same fun indie vibe. Cotton Candy Pink is pastel pink and loaded with silver and blue glitter pieces. i was really impressed with the opacity of this polish, it only took two coats for excellent coverage! one coat of topcoat makes the mani shiny while still looking textured, but an extra coat gives it a completely different smooth look.

two coats Cotton Candy Pink, one coat Seche Vite on ring and pointer fingers, two coats Seche Vite on pinkie and middle fingers.

Hard Candy nail lacquers are available exclusively at Walmart and retail for $3.97 for .26 fl. oz. check out www.HardCandy.com for more information on all Hard Candy products!

Hard Candy Sweet Tooth

worked on cantering today, Aramis was such a good boy! the weather was perfect and i had such a great time, i know i was riding around with a constant big, dopey grin... bliss :)

today's polish is Hard Candy Sweet Tooth from their Candy Sprinkles collection. it's a blue, pink, and white glitter in a milky pale blue base. this polish has that fun indie vibe that is so in right now! the base is pretty sheer, but good opacity can be built up in three coats. it looks quite nice if left sheer, this is one that i don't mind seeing a bit of VNL (visible nail line) in the mani. because of the sheerness of the base, there is a really cool sandwich effect. it's really easy to work with and goes on smoothly, i didn't have any trouble with glitter placement. if any glitter hung over the free edge of the nail, it was easy just to push it back onto the nail without causing wrinkles or smudges. topcoat will give you a nice shine to bring out a the glitter!

three coats Sweet Tooth, one coat Seche Vite.

Hard Candy Glamour Girl

worked on learning to jump at my riding lesson today... since that's pretty much been my goal my whole life, i'm super excited :D i came pretty close to a dirt bath once, but i'm happy to report i managed to avoid falling off. now to practice cantering as much as i've worked on trotting! my sweet friend brought me flowers today, so my house now smells like a garden... it's awesome :)

today's polish is Hard Candy Glamour Girl from their Glitteratzi collection. since it's fairly sheer, i layered it over Hard Candy Crush On Gold. Glamour Girl is a warm, saturated pink glitter with large hex pieces and micro-glitter in a clear base. i love how gold and pink look together, this combo is just beautiful. i used one coat for this look, with minimal placing needed for evenness! it's a bit rough, so i would add a topcoat, which has the added bonus of bringing out all the shinies. if you don't like feeling any texture on your nails, you will probably need multiple coats of topcoat!

one coat Glamour Girl, one coat Seche Vite, both over Hard Candy Crush On Gold.

Hard Candy Crush On Gold

went riding bareback for the first time today! Aramis was such a good boy :) we just went round and round inside a little ring, but it was still fun. we did a little trotting... i was shocked by just how slickery horses are! i knew it would be slippery, but somehow i was still surprised at how much.

today's polish is Hard Candy Crush On Gold from their Crushed Chromes collection. it's a gorgeous gold foil that really makes your nails look like they have gold gilt on them! there is a lot of shimmer going on in this polish and it also has orange-toned gold particles that really add depth. two coats for full opacity with an easy to work with, glide on formula. topcoat really brings out all the polish has to offer!

two coats Crush On Gold, one coat Seche Vite.

i'm totally in love with the brush for this polish... medium width and firm enough for great control! have you tried any Hard Candy polishes yet? Ria :)

RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU WANT TO LOOK YOUNGER…
Don’t let your hands give your age away!

Women pull out all the stops when it comes to fighting aging: eating right, working out, Botox, fillers, hair color, sleep – you name it.  But the war against Father Time is usually fought from the neck up. One look at a woman’s hands and all those efforts are for naught.

You’re looking at your hands now aren’t you?  Happy with what you see?

Ellen Sirot, the nation’s top hand model, not only wanted – but also needed – top quality hand care to perfect the tools of her trade.  Nothing on the market was able to provide her with the results she demanded along with the preventative care she desired.  So Sirot set out on a mission with CCA Industries to create a new category and offer women the most effective and affordable hand care possible.

Hand Perfection® is the only Anti-Aging Hand Care treatment line available at mass market.  The line consists of a Nourishing Day Cream and Revitalizing Night Cream which when used together, are clinically proven to help turn back the hands of time - guaranteed! The fragrance-free, non-greasy formulas go on smooth and absorb quickly for an invisible, weightless feel. There is also a Nail and Cuticle Treatment which is clinically proven to moisturize the cuticles and help improve the look and feel of the nail bed for an overall healthy and beautiful looking hand.

“We dedicate so much time and effort to our faces, but then we totally neglect our hands,” explains Ellen. The skin on the hands is just as delicate as the skin around the eyes.  And think of what your hands go through in a single day.  It’s time to give hands the same attention as your face and body.

Hand Perfection Anti-Aging Hand Care products have been specifically formulated for the unique requirements of the skin on our hands. Powered by an exclusive and proprietary “RevitaStim Active Complex with Olivem-1000, Peptides and Hyaluronic Acid,” Hand Perfection visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crepiness and delivers youthful radiance, improved elasticity and fullness within just 2 weeks.

Drew Edell, EVP, R&D and Product Development explains, “A liquid crystal emulsion contained in the Complex closely mimics and associates with the skin’s lipid barrier.  This compatibility helps to restore and maintain the skin’s natural barrier and speed delivery of the functional ingredients to the skin for maximum performance.  Additionally, the inclusion of SPF 15 in the Day Cream helps protect the skin from further damage.  On application there is an immediate improvement in the skin’s flexibility and appearance and within 2 weeks, signs of aging on the skin are significantly improved”.

“Just as anti-aging products revolutionized the facial care market, the Hand Perfection collection will generate the same kind of excitement in the hand care market,” states Dunnan Edell, CEO – President of CCA Industries.

In clinical tests, 91% of consumers were shown to have a significant improvement in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture and skin smoothness in just two weeks with noticeable results in as few as five days when using the Hand Perfection System.   88% had a significant improvement in the appearance of crepiness and there was a greater radiance & brightness in hands. When using the Nail and Cuticle Treatment Pen, 100% of the testers were clinically proven to have more moisturized cuticles and nails.  Overall, dry, aging, damaged hands were tremendously improved after using the Hand Perfection regimen.

Hand Perfection is the first and only hand care system available today at mass marketers that both treats the signs of aging and works to prevent the premature aging of hands.
