Salon Perfect Sugar Cube

went out running errands with Mama Pawlish today after a doctors appointment. this is marathon doctor week where i have an appointment every day but Monday, so i've only been to the barn Monday and then i'll have my lesson tomorrow night. crazy!

today's polish is Salon Perfect Sugar Cube (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). it's a white creme that pairs perfectly with neons. it's opaque in only two coats, but you do have to be careful when applying because it could get slightly patchy. because of this, some nails might take three coats! it's a really WHITE white, which gives that White-Out look to the nails i absolutely love. it dries shiny on its own, but it really comes to life with topcoat!

two coats Sugar Cube, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat (also a press sample).

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

coming up next... starting the neons from Salon Perfect Neon POP! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat

dragged Mama Pawlish out to the barn today to have her put up a rack in my locker for me... she's the best! it didn't take her long, so she went along with me on a walk, me riding Echo bareback (my fave <3). it was great to have her there, i'm going to try and get her to come out once a week or so to go on walks :)

today i'm starting my Salon Perfect reviews, i'm so thankful to have been sent a bunch of press samples and really share a lot of the brand with you all! i thought the best way to start would be with their top coat, Crystal Clear Top Coat (as you might have guessed, it's a press sample, kindly sent to me for review!). i'm really impressed with it, it dries quickly and with a high shine!

here's a look at the bottle. let me know if you like seeing bottle shots, i can start including them in all my posts!

i wanted to swatch this on my naked nails, but once applied to my bare nail, most of it absorbed into the nail, causing it not to have that glossy finish i love so much! i then added a coat of Butter London Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat, which i topped with Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. this gave much more of the glossy finish, but still wasn't quite as glossy as when it's applied over regular polish. not sure why this is!

the swatch!

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

let me know if you've tried out this top coat and how it worked for you!

Happy Monday! Ria :)

China Glaze Pop Top Feeling Sparkly Box Set

today i have the other box set available from China Glaze's Pop Top collection... this one is called Feeling Sparkly! all of the products in this post are press samples, kindly provided to me for review... however, i had in the past purchased White On White with my own money :) i already have posts with swatches up for two of the polishes in this set, i will add the links in before each one's swatch picture! all of the swatches will be topped with China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat (another press sample).

Feeling Sparkly comes with White On White, a white creme, and three glitter toppers.

White On White is a white creme... this has been my go to white creme for a long while! it's very user friendly and completely opaque in two coats. i love it on its own, as well as as a base under glitters and to help out sheer polishes. best of all, it makes neons really pop! check out my original swatch here :)

next up we have Your Present Required. it's hex glitter with different sized pieces in copper, white, blue, and purple! it goes on pretty evenly with minimal placing, always nice with a glitter. i used one coat for this swatch, and i did that with the other two glitters as well! this is the other polish i had previously reviewed... see it swatched over another color here. i think i prefer it over the white!

next up is I Pink I Can! this is another hex glitter with different sized pieces... but this time they are all pink! it's another that's pretty easy to apply, and gives nice coverage in one coat. i like glitters to be like this, where you can still see a fair amount of the base color peeking through!

last up is Techno. this is my favorite combo of the day! it has medium-sized hex pieces and also micro-glitter... and it's all silver holographic :) i just love how the white looks with it... i will be putting this combo on after i finish up this post! this one doesn't apply quite as easily and i did do a little placing... but the end effect is totally worth it.

just like with the Glisten Up box set, all of these are much more spectacular in person... it's impossible to capture the beauty of glitters (especially holos!) in a photograph :)

the China Glaze Pop Top collection will be available starting August 2014. if you buy all the polishes individually, the MSRP is $7.50 and they will be at fine salons and beauty supply stores nationwide. the four piece box sets are exclusive to Ulta, the MSRP is $19.95... which means if you want the whole collection, you will really save by heading to Ulta and getting the sets :D

coming up next i have a bunch of Salon Perfect polishes to share with you all... including some from the Neon POP collection! those posts will be returning to my usual one polish per post format.

have a fantastic weekend, hope it's beautiful where you are! Ria :)

China Glaze Pop Top Glisten Up Box Set

i don't usually do posts with multiple polishes, but because the China Glaze Pop Top collection can be bought in two box sets, i thought i would do a post on each box set. we are starting with the Glisten Up box set!

all of these polishes (and the China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat!) were kindly sent to me for review. i had already purchased Luxe And Lush myself awhile ago, you can see the original review here! in this post i will have fresh swatches of everything, and they will all be topped with Fast Forward Top Coat :)

the Glisten Up box set includes Heart Of Africa, Luxe And Lush, Pizzazz, and Fairy Dust! here's a look at them in the bottles.

first up we have the base color, Heart Of Africa. it's a gorgeous saturated wine shimmer that is easy to apply and opaque in only two coats! it's gorgeous all on its own, so if you buy the box set, you will have lots of options.

next we have Luxe And Lush. it's mylar shard flakie topper... and one of my favorite glitters of all time! when this originally was released, i bought it... then loved it so much i bought a back up. the flakes flash shades of green, orange, and yellow... and are just so pretty. it applies pretty easily, with a little bit of placing necessary, but not nearly as much as some flakies require. i think it's because the flakes are very dense in the base, so you are guaranteed to have a good amount on your brush for application!

next up is Pizzazz, a glitter bursting with different sizes of hex pieces in silver, blue, purple, green, orange, and gold. the glitter is very densely packed, so you would be able to get the look of complete glitter pretty easily! i used only one coat, and you can see my nails are pretty well covered.

last up is Fairy Dust, a super fine holographic glitter. this gives the look a scattered holo to any nail polish... which is really cool! the teensy particles make this polish stand out from other holographic toppers. this one would be difficult to get an opaque look from... but as you can see in the swatch, just one coat does give nice, even coverage of the nail!

all of these are much more spectacular in person... it's impossible to capture the beauty of glitters (especially holos!) in a photograph :)

the China Glaze Pop Top collection will be available starting August 2014. if you buy all the polishes individually, the MSRP is $7.50 and they will be at fine salons and beauty supply stores nationwide. the four piece box sets are exclusive to Ulta, the MSRP is $19.95... which means if you want the whole collection, you will really save by heading to Ulta and getting the sets :D

hope you enjoyed this post, coming up next is the Feeling Sparkly box set!

Happy Wednesday! Ria :)

FingerPaints Film Noir... Film Noir!

i'm probably only going to be able to go the barn for my lesson this week. Mama Pawlish is still away taking care of family stuff, and Mr. Pawlish is at work... and Jasper still has his sutures in. i can't wait until he gets them out on Thursday, we're almost there!

today we have the last of the FingerPaints Film Noir polishes, the namesake Film Noir! (it's a press sample, kindly sent to me for review!). this is the one i was most excited about... i love these vampy colors. Film Noir is a dark grapey wine creme with a porcelain (matte) finish. this polish just makes your hands look so sexy! it is definitely the most easy to apply of the three cremes in this collection. i only needed two coats for complete opacity, and i didn't struggle with dragging like i did with the others. you do still need to try and apply it as smoothly as possible because it will dry with some lumps. this one dries super fast like the others, and again... no topcoat needed :) as you wear them, the matte look will lesson, but i found putting an alcohol based cleanser helped bring it back. you can also apply matte topcoat if necessary!

two coats Film Noir.

FingerPaints polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply!

i hope you enjoyed seeing this collection, i'm so thankful for the opportunity to share it with you all! which was your favorite? i think mine ended up being Petal Obsession! Ria :)

FingerPaints Film Noir... Petal Obsession

nothing exciting to report here today... just relaxing with the doggies and Mr. Pawlish. i can't wait until Jasper get his sutures out this Thursday so we'll actually be able to leave the dogs alone for a little while to go out to dinner and run errands! the dogs are definitely loving having someone with them 24/7, though :)

today's polish is Petal Obsession from FingerPaint's Film Noir collection (it's press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). this polish is a super pale pink creme with a porcelain (matte) finish. i absolutely love colors like this, they are some of my top favorites to wear... and the finish on this one makes it special! the formula is a bit tricky, it dries super fast so you can't go over the same spot very many times or you get balding. you definitely need to make sure you have enough polish on the brush to go over the nail a couple time and get a smooth coat, as it also can be lumpy easily at dry down. for me, the finished look makes the hard application worth it! i used three coats to get it as smooth as possible and completely opaque. no topcoat needed and it dries super fast!

three coats Petal Obsession (and seriously, how cute is that name?!).

FingerPaints polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply!

next up i have the last of the FingerPaints Film Noir polishes... and it's a beauty! Ria :)

FingerPaints Film Noir... Hollywood Decadence

nothing too exciting going on today, or this weekend! just staying home with the doggies :) Mama Pawlish is gone dealing with some family stuff, so it's must me and Mr. Pawlish this weekend. we can't really go anywhere though because Jasper still has his sutures in from getting a lump removed... and he can't be left alone because i'm afraid he'll find a way to rip them out! plus, he's still a bit anxious from being at the vet, so i don't want to leave him... my dogs are way spoiled :)

today polish is FingerPaints Hollywood Decadence from their Film Noir collection (the two polishes in this post are press samples, kindly provided to me for review!). Hollywood Decadence is a glitter full of different sized hex pieces in blue, gold and purple. it's suspended in a porcelain (matte) finish clear base. it's really interesting because you still get the flash of the glitter, but more subtley than with a normal shiny finish! for the swatch, i put it over FingerPaints Beautiful Mystery. this combo is really pretty, i think it would be a great way to do a more work appropriate glitter! no topcoat needed, and it dries really fast... which is absolutely ideal.

one coat Hollywood Decadence over three coats Beautiful Mystery.

FingerPaints polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply!

two more Film Noir polishes to go... Happy Friday! Ria :)

FingerPaints Film Noir... Beautiful Mystery

had an awesome jumping lesson last night on Echo... so thankful to have that horse in my life! she's really helped me to overcome some major fears i was having after a tumble :) last night was actually a makeup lesson, so i have another lesson tonight in dressage!

today's polish is from FingerPaints Film Noir collection... Beautiful Mystery (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). it's a dusty, light blue creme that dries to a matte finish. the finish is described as porcelain on the press release and i think that's a great description. the formula is slightly tricky, make sure you have enough polish on the brush to coat the nail smoothly, and don't go over the same spot too many times as it will drag since it's super fast drying. i used three coats to smooth it out, and i did have a couple ridges left... even application is key! since it's a porcelain matte finish no topcoat is needed, and it dries really quickly which makes me super happy :)

three coats Beautiful Mystery.

FingerPaints polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply!

i have the other three shades to share with you all over the next few days, so be sure to keep checking back.  i'm super excited over these polishes, this collection is really cool! Ria :)

Pixi Color of the Month... Fuchsia Dew

totally wimped out at the heat index being over one hundred today and ran errands this mornings instead of riding! i wanted to ride Echo bareback, but since i wasn't sure if my bareback pad will fit her (in fact, i'm pretty sure it won't) and i didn't want to ride in a saddle, i figured i'd just stay home. that's the issue with living so far away, it's easy to make excuse on a hot day!

today of Pixi's Color of the Month for July 2014 to share with you all... Fuchsia Dew (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!)! it. is. gorgeous!! when i took it out of the box, i squealed, then ran around the house to show it to Mama Pawlish and Mr. Pawlish... yep, it's that good. Fuchsia Dew is a hot pink shot through with gold micro-shimmer. it's just lovely. you might be able to get away with one thick coat, but i prefer two coats. you'll definitely want to add topcoat to bring out all that golden shimmer!

two coats Fuchsia Dew, one coat Butter London Nail 999 Rescue Topcoat.

these polishes retail for $8. you can find Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!! Fuchsia Dew is a limited edition shade that will only be available at PixiBeauty.com while supplies last... so make sure to order soon if it's something you're interested in it :) this is the direct link to the Pixi Beauty Nail Colour page!

hope you're having a fantastic week! i have a riding lesson tomorrow, but it's supposed to thunderstorm... hopefully it won't! Ria :)

FingerPaints Film Noir Press Release

had a great day at the barn, went on my first trail ride with Echo... and let me tell you, that girl earned her cookies today! i misjudged the clearance between a branch and my head... and somehow managed to get an enormous v-shaped branch stuck on my neck, where it promptly broke off. the branch... not my neck ;) i thought for sure Echo was going to bolt, what with a giant branch tapping her behind, but she just stood, let me get extricated and toss the thing... and was totally perfect. amazing girl :)

i have a press release from FingerPaints to share with you all today of their new Film Noir collection! it will be released in August 2014... it's definitely got a Fall vibe to me, what do you think? i'm very interested in seeing what their 'porcelain finish' will look like!

FingerPaints products can be found at Sally Beauty Supply. Happy Tuesday! Ria :)
