French Manicure Using Salon Perfect Polishes!

tonight is a show jumping lesson! hopefully Mr. Pawlish will make home in time to go... he's had a super busy week at work so it could go either way. it's so nice when he goes so he can take video, it really helps for me to able to watch and see what i can fix next time. plus, pictures! next month he definitely won't be able to come because lessons will be earlier... hate it when the days get shorter :( i'm sure looking forward to Autumn weather, though!

today i have a French mani to share with you all! i love French manicures, especially French... they're just so much easier to get even and nice than a traditional French. i had originally put on Salon Perfect Pocketful Of Posies, it just looked so great in the swatch when i was working on yesterday's post that i had to slap it on! upon looking at it, it looked like it was just crying out to be French, so of course i obliged with Salon Perfect Sugar Cube. i used two coats of topcoat to seal it in because i somehow had gotten dirty bits in the topcoat, so i had to add polish and then more topcoat to fix it! grrrrr, frustrating when that happens >.<

two coats Salon Perfect Pocketful Of Posiesone coat at the tips Salon Perfect Sugar Cube,  two coats Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (all three are press samples).

i did edit out the patches i did on these, and a bunch of air bubbles from trying to get the black bits out. oddly enough, you can't even see the bubbles in person! i was shocked when i went to edit the photos and saw them all... so weird how cameras will pick things up that aren't noticeable in person :)

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

do you guys have any big plans for the holiday weekend? Mr. Pawlish has a four day weekend, but i think we're just mostly going to hang around the house... boring, i know! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Pocketful Of Posies

had my private lesson today, we worked in the cross country field since last weeks group lesson ended up being dressage. it was fun, i just blew it a bit at the end with my anxiety over banks. i have no idea where it comes from, or why i get all worked up over popping up, what, six inches? have to work on keeping myself together... my trainer says it's like my evil twin takes over who doesn't know how to ride :D

today i have Salon Perfect Pocketful Of Posies to share with you all! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). Pocketful Of Posies is a soft, baby pink creme. it's a bit darker and far less bright than you would think by seeing it in the bottle! i love it for a pink and white French mani :) you can get it opaque in two coats, but you might need one more on some fingers... it's not the best at self leveling and might get a little patchy. it dries shiny, but it's even better with a high shine topcoat!

two coats Oil Slick, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (both are press samples).

congratulations... you're halfway through the week! it's only going up from here! Ria :)

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy... Wild Card

had my sleep deprived EEG yesterday... so i stayed home again today to try and get my body back on track. staying up all night just throws everything off so much! i'm really nervous for the results to get back... and i have to wait until next Monday to get them. i'm just praying it won't show seizure activity!

today i have new Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy line to share with you all, the colored polish is in Wild Card. these got bumped to the head of the line because i just tried them out... and didn't have a great experience. i had a read another bloggers review and they hated it... but, i was hoping for a different outcome :)

the idea of this line is that you use the colored polish, then add the Diamond Top Coat. you should then have a gel-look manicure that lasts longer than traditional polish. i ended up only have this combo on for a couple of hours, though! it absolutely refused to dry completely... i do have issues with polishes drying on me, so that could be part of it. however, it bubbled quite a bit as i applied... then, it continued to bubble up more and more as the day wore on!

here's a look at what the bottles look like...

i used two coats of Wild Card, topped with one coat of Diamond Top Coat. Wild Card is a dusty mid-toned blue... a bit dustier than it looks in the swatch! the formula is fairly thick, but easy to work with. you can see some bubbles in the photo... but way more bubbles appeared later! it was quite strange.

you can find these at most drugstores and places like Target and Walmart... i bought mine at CVS!

i wish i had only bought one color, but i was sucked in by two. i haven't decided if i'm even going to try the other one... it's a shimmer instead of creme, so maybe the different formula will dry better. i will probably give it a go one of these days!

Happy Tuesday! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Oil Slick

today it's jump lesson day! yesterday i had a dressage lesson... basically, both Echo and i need to build up our fitness. we're the chunky monkeys of the barn :) the best news is that Brother Pawlish is coming to visit for the weekend, starting tomorrow! super excited to see him!

today i have Salon Perfect Oil Slick to share with you all. (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). Oil Slick is a super black creme polish. the formula is great... you could probably get away with one thick coat, but i think it's perfection at two! it dries shiny on its own, but it's even better with a high shine topcoat... i love how glossy it is, you can how much it's reflecting in the swatch! if you're not into black polish on its own, it would make a great base for duo/multi-chromes and glitters.

two coats Oil Slick, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (both are press samples).

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

tomorrow i'm going in for a brain MRI to try and figure out why i have these bizarre neurological issues going on... i'd appreciate any prayers and positive vibes you can send me! please let me know if there's something i can pray for you about! xoxox Ria :)

Salon Perfect Neon POP... Electric Grape

i didn't feel quite right when i got up this morning, so i decided to stay home from the barn... good thing i did, because i had one of those neurological spells! so glad i didn't have it at the barn... or while riding! i spent the evening swatching, so i've now got all the Salon Perfect polishes i was sent swatched :) coming soon!

today i have Salon Perfect Electric Grape from their Neon POP collection... this is the one i found at Walmart the other day! it's really warm plummy purple with blue and pinky purple micro-glitter... however, the glitter is pretty hidden unless you put your eyeball right up to it! it will look wayyyy darker inside than it does outside or in bright light, it's pretty interesting. a white creme under it will really help brighten it up! two coats give full opacity, it can be a little patchy on coat one but it's good on coat two. it dries quite rubbery and dark... topcoat shines it up and makes it look a lot lighter!

one coat Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, two coats Electric Grape, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (Sugar Cube and Crystal Clear Top Coat are press samples, kindly provided to me for review!).

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

more Salon Perfect on the way!! hope your week has gotten off to a fantastic start! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Neon POP... Loopy Lime

had lunch out with Mr. Pawlish and Mama Pawlish... i thought about going to this great thrift store that's half off on Sundays... but really, i don't need to be buying more stuff! i'm hoping to lose weight, so i'm trying to hold off buying clothes now, as well. if you live anywhere near Laurel, Maryland, 2nd Avenue is an amazing thrift store!

today's Salon Perfect Neon POP polish is Loopy Lime. (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). it's a bright green (not quite warm enough to be lime in my opinion, though!) with a pearly finish. it's easily opaque in two coats over a white creme, but be careful in your application to avoid wobblers in the finish... you can see i wasn't quite successful in completely avoiding them in the swatch! you will definitely want to apply a shiny topcoat, as the neon pigments in this polish give it that rubbery look at dry down :)

one coat Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, two coats Loopy Lime, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (all three are press samples).

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

i'm so thankful for the opportunity to share these polishes with you all!

i have finished all of the Neon POP press samples i was sent, but i have one more to share with you all tomorrow that i was able to find at my local Walmart! there is still one more i'm hoping to get my paws on... i'll definitely blog it if i find it. Electric Grape coming up tomorrow! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Neon POP... Fired Up Fuchsia

ran errands with Mr. Pawlish this morning... i found one more Salon Perfect Neon POP polish at Walmart that i hadn't been sent! excited to be able to share it with you all :) i had a great jumping lesson on Thursday... i managed not to fall off, which some days, is all the victory you need!

today's Salon Perfect Neon POP polish is Fired Up Fuchsia. (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). Fired Up Fuchsia is a bright, saturated pink with a subtle shimmer... it actually translates more as a pearlescence than a true shimmer! it's opaque in two coats and bright over a white creme base... just be careful when applying because like many pearl polishes you can get wobbly lines! you can see a couple in the swatch if you look closely. because of the neon pigment this one dries to a rubbery finish... it really looks its best with a high shine topcoat!

one coat Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, two coats Fired Up Fuchsia, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

Salon Perfect Neon POP... Tickled Pink

my jump lesson is tonight! we've changed it up a bit, i'm going to have group jump lessons every week, and two dressage privates a month. i have to get ready to go soon, but i wanted to get this post up before i leave... i know i'll be too tired when i get back :)

today we have Tickled Pink from the Salon Perfect Neon POP collection! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). it's a bright, warm pink creme that also has some of that neon pigment. this would be a great 'starter' neon to ease you into wearing neons if you aren't quite sure how you feel about them! because of the neon, it dries to a rubbery finish and really benefits from a shiny topcoat. two coats over white make for perfect opacity!

one coat Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, two coats Tickled Pink, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (all three are press samples).

Salon Perfect Neon POP... Flamingo Flair

went to the neurologist yesterday... i'm not sure what i was hoping for, but i'm disappointed with the outcome. if you've been with me for awhile, you might remember i spent some time on an epilepsy ward where it was determined i do not have epilepsy or electrical problems. however, now the doctor here wants to start over with the tests again... so now i have to have an MRI and a sleep-deprived EEG. so frustrated.

today's Salon Perfect Neon POP polish is Flamingo Flair! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). Flamingo Flair is a super bright peach creme, this is one that i would definitely consider a true neon. (Salon Perfect describes it as a neon flamingo pink... but i definitely think it's more of a peach neon!). with that neon pigment comes the rubbery finish that will require a shiny topcoat to bring it to its best! over a white creme, this was just gorgeous at two coats :) in some lights it looks more orange than it does in the swatch... and it's also more neon!

one coat Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, two coats Flamingo Flair, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

Vote For My #InniForEmmys Nail Wrap Design!

hi, everyone! i'm entered in a new contest by Inni Nail Designs called Inni For Emmy's! i created a nail wrap design using their Open Studio platform... and now just need votes :) the grand prize winner will have their design gifted to celebrities at the Emmy's AND a years supply of wraps! that would be totally awesome.

if you haven't seen it yet, here's my blog post all about Inni and their innovative wraps! i just love that the only thing limiting what you can have made into a custom wrap is your imagination... just think, you can have your dogs on your nails :D

here's the design i came up with... California Coast! i would love it if you would vote for it at http://bit.ly/1uswQYl. if you really love it, you can even vote once an hour! you have to like Inni Nails Facebook page first, though :) thanks, guys!!

i hope you've all had a great start to the week! i'm heading to the neurologist tomorrow... a bit nervous, but hopefully it will go well. Happy Monday! Ria :)

Pixi Color of the Month... Caliente Coral

the last couple days were super busy, so here's another Sunday post for you all :) Friday just got away with me from errands, and Saturday Mr. Pawlish and i went to visit family that lives a couple hours from us. we stopped at a farm stand with a food truck on the way home, Mr. Pawlish had a soft crab sandwich and i had an amazing Philly cheese steak!

today i have the next Pixi Color of the Month polish... Caliente Coral! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). it's a hot pink leaning coral with glass flecks in it that dries to a crelly finish... a creme that has that squishy, jelly look! i like crellies because they have a lot more opacity than your traditional jelly, and two coats gave me enough coverage that i felt comfortable wearing it! i didn't want to add too many layers and lose that squishy quality. the glass flecks have an ever so slight blue tone... but you really can't see it except in pictures. it's not very shiny upon dry down, so i highly recommend a high shine topcoat to gloss it up and help speed along the drying process!

two coats Caliente Coral, one coat Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Top Coat.

hese polishes retail for $8. you can find Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!! Caliente Coral is a limited edition shade that will only be available at PixiBeauty.com while supplies last... so make sure to order soon if it's something you're interested in it :) this is the direct link to the Pixi Beauty Nail Colour page!

busy week coming up... a couple more doctors appointments, and riding Echo the other days! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Neon POP... Summer Escape

i've spent the day swatching! it always blows my mind how long swatching takes, it's really quite the process... polish, topcoat, photograph, remove polish, repeat. it is fun getting to see all the colors on my nails, though :) i'm getting a bunch of swatches queued up because i have a more intensive review coming up that will take longer to try out :D

today's Salon Perfect Neon POP polish is Summer Escape! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). Summer Escape is an orange creme with strong yellow undertones... i couldn't decide when it was on whether is was really orange or actually yellow! Salon Perfect describes it as a 'blazing sunny orange,' and i think that's a great description. the formula on this is a bit tricky, it wants to be patchy. so two coats will get it opaque over a white creme base, but you may need to add polish here and there to touch up thinner spots. this one dries a bit more shiny, rather than the rubbery finish the brighter ones did. it still benefits from a shiny topcoat, though, to really get it looking its best! bonus... it will help even out any lingering patchiness.

one coat Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, two coats Summer Escape, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (all three are press samples).

Salon Perfect Neon POP... Haute Pink

just stayed around the house today except a brief outing for lunch. since my jump lesson is tomorrow, i wanted to give my bruised knee another day off... it got pretty cranky from me riding on it yesterday, and we just walked! i won't gross you all out with a picture... but, dang, that bruise is gnarly :D

i'm super excited to share Salon Perfect Haute Pink from their Neon POP collection with you all today! (it's press sample, kindly provided to me for review!) Haute Pink is a neon coral pink creme... and it's awesome. i got so many compliments on this one, it's so bright and fun that it just screams for attention :) like all the neon's it looks best over a white base... two coats over the white base and you're good to go! remember to make sure you cover all the white as it does show a lot... you can see where i messed up and left a little at my cuticles. it dries down to a rubbery finish... a shiny topcoat makes it absolutely delicious :) this bad boy is even better in person and on the nail!

two coats Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, two coats Haute Pink, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (all three are press samples).

Salon Perfect Neon POP... Traffic Cone

woke up to go to the barn this morning... and the bruise on my knee from getting dumped a few days ago was still huge! i didn't want to put my tall boots on... totally wussed out. going to try again tomorrow :)

today's Salon Perfect Neon POP polish is Traffic Cone! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's scorchingly bright neon orange creme. the name is perfect... think blinding traffic cone! the formula is a bit sheer, i love it best over white. i decided to go with just one coat of white today, and it worked well! just make sure to keep it even and you'll be good to go... you don't need it completely opaque since we're just using it for layering :) two coats of Traffic Cone will give you that perfect opacity and glow. it dries down to a rubbery finish, so you'll want to add topcoat to give it that amazing shine!

my camera absolutely couldn't handle all the neon in this one... you'll definitely need to see it on your own nails! but if you're looking for a neon orange, i don't think you'll be disappointed in this one :)

one coat Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, two coats Traffic Cone, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (all three are press samples).
