Sally Hansen at Stella McCartney's 2015 Fashion Show! (Press Release)

i'm really excited to share this Sally Hansen press release with you all... it's more nude nails from Fashion Week! i'm so happy about this trend as it's definitely one of my favorite nail looks (of course... somehow they all seem to be my favorite :D ) read on for details!

SALLY HANSEN GOES MATTE AT STELLA McCARTNEY’S SUMMER 2015 FASHION SHOW

As the exclusive nail sponsor of Stella McCartney Collections in 2014, Sally Hansen hit the runway at Stella McCartney’s Summer 2015 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week. To accessorize the effortlessly elegant and fluid silhouettes in the designer’s collection, Sally Hansen’s Global Color Ambassador Madeline Poole created a coolly minimalist, nude manicure with a twist by giving flesh toned polish an unexpected matte finish.

Showing that understated colors can make a fashion statement, Poole paired Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat with flattering nude shades from the Complete Salon Manicure collection to give the glossy manicure a chic velvety matte look.

“The idea for the matte nude nail came from referencing the true sheen of a natural nail,” says Madeline Poole.  “As an unpainted nail is generally more satin or matte in finish, we were mimicking this surface. In the end, the result is dusty and bare like the cheek of a porcelain doll.”

THE SHADES

Complete Salon Manicure in Almost Almond
Big Matte Top Coat

Sally Hansen’s award-winning Complete Salon Manicure collection infuses trend-setting shades with an expert quality formula to deliver salon-caliber results. Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure delivers seven salon manicure steps in one bottle. Chip resistant strength joins gel-quality shine. Must-have color meets nourishing benefits. Plus, a built-in base and top coat, it’s everything you need to achieve a professional manicure at home.

Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat transforms a glossy manicure of any color into a velvety matte for an edgy, unexpected finish. Containing a mattifying Silica agent, the formula brushes on glossy before instantly drying to a matte top sealant. The smooth top coat applies evenly and easily and dries with lightning speed without smudging nail art or other special effect nail polishes and can also be applied to bare nails for an extreme matte look with a silky finish.

THE STELLA MCCARTNEY SUMMER 2015 COLLECTION

Effortless movement and a fluid silhouette reflect the true spirit of summer, embracing a strong feminine attitude.

Utilitarian functionality with sailor trousers and wide culottes in shades of white, crème and vanilla. Washed cotton twill and linens provide texture and a feeling of age and character. Slightly over scaled buckles create toughness. Heavily stitched hemlines and gathered waists reflect work wear. Naïve markings are applied to add further depth onto the fabric.

A statement in denim plays on appliqué threadwork and a combination of asymmetrical circular shapes and cutaway side paneling. A washed ribbed knit dyed in indigo creates the illusion of denim.

Knitwear is bold and sensual, made of organic yarn in butter with polished hardware details; knotted and twisted, exposing skin in movement. A shiny and matte knit of different rib proportions is chopped and sculptured in asymmetrical silhouettes in powder, ciel and butter shades, accessorized with oversized non-PVC necklace chains.

Check print is applied on layers of billowing silk dresses and ultra -light trench coats. Embracing a worn effect, silk crepe de chine jacquard and silk satin voile in gentle pastels reveal skin and layers underneath the tunnel work, gathered at the waist in a depth of luxurious washed fabric.

Evening captures the energy and exuberance of summer. An eclectic mix of patterns and prints in delicate organza are sewn into a jigsaw of suspended hand-embroideries, creating windows through the body.

Shoes feature soft knots and fluid lines, contrasted with a graphic mirror finish. A new mid heel wedge in sustainable Alter Nappa is naturally confident and sexy. Knotted flats and soft lacing. Bags echo the collection, in cotton scuba and Alter Nappa. A cylinder clutch in ciel and patchworked embroidered clutches in butter and navy.

THE MANICURIST

Sally Hansen Global Color Ambassador Madeline Poole is a nail expert working in New York and LA. Trained as a painter, Madeline worked odd jobs like vintage poster restoration as an art student in Baltimore. Her unique talent in crafting innovative designs, emphasis on skin care and attention to the hand as a whole makes her one of the most sought after names in the beauty industry. As part of the collaboration with Sally Hansen, Madeline will help set the artistic direction for a new generation of modern nail looks and collections with her fashion-forward vision on a worldwide basis.

WHAT THEY COST: Complete Salon Manicure, $7.99, Big Matte Top Coat, $5.99

i absolutely love seeing what models have on their nails for fashion shows... it really brings a whole new element into the picture. hope you enjoyed this brief look into Stella McCartney's 2015 Show! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Haze

i couldn't believe it started raining on the way to the barn today... there was only a 7% chance of rain! it continued raining most of the time i was there... luckily, it was a very light rain, so i didn't get drenched on the way to and back from the indoor arena. thank goodness for an indoor :D

today i have Salon Perfect Haze to share with you all! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it is a light greY with a super subtle shimmer... you won't see it much, but it definitely adds dimension. since i love greYs, i of course love this one! remember to be careful in application, as you might get some wobblers... you may have a couple of brushstrokes, but they aren't too noticeable. definitely add a high shine topcoat to bring out the shimmer as much as possible!

two coats Haze, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (both are press samples).

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

i think i've figured out a good time to go the barn now that the horses are on day turnout! just have to get myself into the new routine. Happy Monday! Ria :)

Pixi 15th Anniversary Polish... Crystal Champagne!

we are heading to visit my grandmother tomorrow to celebrate her 90th birthday! i thought it would be so perfect to post Pixi's polish celebrating their 15th birthday today :D the manicure i'm sharing today is what i'll be wearing to her little get together... it's perfect party polish!

the Pixi 15th Anniversary polish is called Crystal Champagne. (this is a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). it's a glitter bomb, chock full of gold micro-glitter and pink hex glitter... that all comes together to form a gorgeous rose gold look. it makes it look like you have rose gold gilt nails :D i really love how it looks over Pixi Almond Glow (also a press sample!)... it's like the two were made for each other! one coat gives lots of coverage, i think this is one you could get opaque on its own fairly easily... i prefer to layer glitters over polishes, though. one huge reason is that it makes removal easier :) i highly recommend adding a high shine topcoat to seal everything in, and also makes the glitters shine shine shine!

quick side note... this glitter really holds up to punishment! i went horseback riding last night, which takes a huge toll on my nails (all the grooming and tacking up is a lot to ask from regular polish!). i only had one piece of glitter flake off at the tip of one nail... and the base polish was undisturbed! since it was the busted ring finger nail, i think i might not have gotten it with topcoat as well i should have :)

one coat Crystal Champagne topped with one coat Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Top Coat , both over Pixi Almond Glow! any darkness you see in the swatch is reflection... this polish is so shiny it was impossible to keep all the reflections out :D it's far more beautiful and shiny in person... i just couldn't capture the beauty with my camera!

these polishes retail for $8. you can find Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!! Almond Glow and Crystal Champagne are both limited edition shades that will only be available at PixiBeauty.com while supplies last... so make sure to order soon if they are something you're interested in :) this is the direct link to the Pixi Beauty Nail Colour page!

hope you all have fantastic weekends! Ria :)

Pixi Color of the Month... Almond Glow

it's a dreary, rainy day here in Maryland... i think my riding is still on for tonight, but i'm thinking we will probably ride in the indoor arena. i'm still having computer issues... but i'm thinking i figured that issue is my SD card... i think it's massively corrupted and messed up the computer. hopefully, now that i won't be using it anymore, i will stop seeing the blue screen of death!

today's polish is the Pixi Color of the Month, Almond Glow! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me review). this polish is a really nice nude with a subtle pink shimmer! the base color is really interesting, it's a beigey rosey brownish creme... really flattering. i really liked the finish at two coats, if you have long nails it might not be completely opaque, but it was quite pigmented on my nubs! (i ripped off my ring finger nail on my saddle, which is why this post is going up later than i wanted it to!) you will definitely want to add a high shine topcoat to bring out all this polish has to offer :) this is one of those shades that Mama Pawlish really digs, chic and easy to wear. i think this would be work appropriate in most offices!

two coats Almond Glow, one coat Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Top Coat.

these polishes retail for $8. you can find Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!! whew, almost made it to Friday! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Mint Julep

nothing too exciting going on here this weekend, we may be meeting up with one of my mom's friends who's passing through... but nothing is set up yet! i have some awesome things to share, but i have to grow my nails back a little... i ripped off my ring finger nail on my saddle the other day, ouchie! so glad i have some swatches built up :)

today we have Salon Perfect Mint Julep! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). Mint Julep is an adorable name, especially for this pale green creme... a true warm mint! it applies nicely, two easy coats for full opacity. any streakiness on coat one is evened out on coat two :) it dries shiny, but is even better with a high shine topcoat!

two coats Mint Julep, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

Inni Nails at Ann Yee Spring 2015 Show!

hi, everyone! so far, so good with my computer :) i have a fun little bit of press from Inni Nails to share you today... Ann Yee used them on her models for Spring 2015 Fashion Show! i love the blue and white contrast of the nails... and what better way to make sure all your models match than to use wraps?! genius.

here's the press!

Ann Yee's Spring 2015 presentation featured bold, linear nail designs by Inni. Models showcased crisp cobalt and white striped Inni nail wraps to compliment their two toned lips. Yee describes her spring 2015 collection as “a story of textures and architectural lines structured for the effortless chic girl.” She custom designed Inni nail wraps for models with this vision in mind.

i hope you are all having fantastic weeks! mine is much better now that the computer is fixed. so lovely to get all the way through a post without the computer throwing up the blue screen of death :D i've got my riding lesson tonight, so i've got to get changed now then head out.

smile!! Ria :)

Five Below Haulage

rewriting this opener now... i got halfway through this blog yesterday and my computer threw up the blue screen of death... which it had done a couple times already that day and many times over the past couple weeks. however, this time it absolutely refused to boot Windows! it told me it needed to be at least partially reformatted (i don't know what this means, but i did it) and i needed to back up my stuff. it was frustrating to have to go out and buy a removable hard drive, but i'm SUPER thankful it let me back up my stuff!! all appears to be going well now, fingers crossed!

i went to Five Below for the first time in years last week, and found some good stuff! i went in because i had seen a Funky Fingers swatch on Facebook and i just HAD to have it. their polishes are quite reasonable, most are 3 for $5. i also got some on clearance for only a buck each!

here are the Funky Fingers! these all seem quite nice and pigmented.

these are the Fresh Paint polishes... all of these were on the clearance rack for a dollar! the metallic polishes and the glitter seem nice, but the creme seems like it going to be sheer and streaky. i've only swatched on a nail wheel, so it remains to be seen how they'll work on the nail!

lastly, i found two pack of Salon Express Nail Art Paint for stamping... for only two bucks! i'm really excited to give this a go, it's WAY cheaper than Konad :)

i have no idea what the the backup actually backed up, because i can't seem to find any of the files i want. however, i do have the sample images that came with the computer! sooooo frustrating! at least i can use my computer again, definitely have to look on the bright side. hopefully my posts will be more regular again, now that my computer isn't driving me bonkers with the blue screen of death every time i try and use it :D

Happy Wednesday! Ria :)

Faby This Is My Style!

i'm having huge computer issues, every time i'm working... it randomly will switch to the blue screen of death! no warning, no nothing. so please excuse my lack of posting... i guess i'm going to be taking my computer to the doctor.

today's polish i have to share with you is FABY This Is My Style! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). This Is My Style! is a sheer nude creme that gives that mannequin hand look i love so much. i like that you can build it up from being extremely sheer, to a nice milky look. i went with three coats :) nude nails were all over the red carpet at the Emmy's, so this polish is right on trend! i used to not like sheer polishes at all, but i've really come around... especially to ones like this, that are nicely self-leveling and not streaky. Mama Pawlish is a huge fan! one great aspect to this polish is it would be amazing to use with French manicures... i would use one coat as a base, then add a white French tip, then one more coat to finish it off. i can't believe how glossy this polish dries! i took the swatch photos without topcoat to show you all the amazing finish, although i did add topcoat afterwards to help all the layers dry :)

one coat Butter London Nail 999 Rescue Basecoat, three coats This Is My Style!.

you can find Faby at their website www.FabyUSA.com, their polishes retail for $18! from their website you can also connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest :)

hope you enjoyed checking out this new-to-me polish line! i'm SUPER impressed.

Happy Saturday! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Bellini

SO glad i decided against taking Echo out bareback today... i thought she might be feeling sassy because of the low temperature today, and i was right! the horses also switched over to day turnout (they are outside in the field during the day, not in their stalls), which meant she had been standing in her stall all night, which all added up to one sassy, not-listening, super-spooky mare. so today's ride wasn't very fun, but that's okay :) i'm going to start coming an hour later so hopefully she will have been able to run around a bit before i get there! these sassy mares, man, are something else ;)

today i have Salon Perfect Bellini to share! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). Bellini really surprised me because it looks like a true peach in the bottle, but has far more of a red undertone on the nail. this makes it basically a light adobe creme! formula is good, two easy coats for full opacity with a shiny finish. to make it all it can be, finish with a high shine topcoat :)

two coats Bellini, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (both are press samples).

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

tomorrow is Mr. Pawlish's car's turn to go into the shop... his had some major parts recalled, plus it needs new tires. thankfully Mama Pawlish is going to go and pick me up so i won't have to wait forever for it to be done! i'm excited because we are going to try and go the grand opening of the new NEX... should be fun! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Cupcake

had to get the oil changed in my car today... i had tried to get it done Friday, which would have been better since it's not one of my Echo days, but they didn't have any slots. good thing i had it planned for it today, because when i turned it on to take it, a message came up saying it needed to be serviced! whoopsh.

today's polish is Salon Perfect Cupcake! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review!). Cupcake is well named, it's a really sweet rosy pink creme with strong purple undertones. i would say it's a touch dustier than it appears in the swatch. it's opaque in two easy coats, and dries shiny on its own. however, it looks even better with a high shine topcoat!

two coats Cupcake, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (both are press samples).

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

my computer is out of control... i got the call that my car was ready while i was writing this post... when i got back, the blue screen of death was up! i had to try and restart it three times before it somehow finally fixed itself. i have no idea what went wrong! thankfully Blogger auto-saves posts, so i didn't lose my work.

hope you are all having fabulous Mondays! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Neon POP... Oceanic

ended up having a dressage lesson instead of jumping last night since my usual trainer is on vacation and her mom taught instead! she is really working on our position, and let me tell you, for me... the struggle is real! i am so not flexible it's ridiculous. but i'm trying :)

today i have Salon Perfect Oceanic from their Neon POP to share with you all! i was SO happy to find this at my local Walmart, i've been lusting after it from the press release :D it's a rich, warm blue shot full of teensy, tiny glitter pieces that turn it into a shimmer... it's delicious! the only issue this polish has is the formula could be better, but i don't care, i love it that much. i used three coats over a white creme, the white really helps it pop. it's super streaky/patchy at coat one, i definitely suggest not even wiping your brush at all before applying because you will need all that polish to go over the nail. as you build up coats, you may or may not need to start wiping a little, i did at coat three! i could have left it at two, but i thought i could see just a tiny bit of streaking if i looked closely... and i love the color so much i wanted absolute perfection, so i slopped on another :) it dries very rubbery, you will definitely want to add high shine top coat. this bad doesn't eat up top coat as much as i feared it would, but i still added two coats to really get that glass shine!

one coat Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, three coats Oceanic, two coats Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (Sugar Cube and Crystal Clear Top Coat are press samples).

there is a touch more warmth/green undertones than there is in the swatch photo... my camera is giving me fits lately!

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

so, have i sold you on this one? i'm a total blue fanatic and i'm really, really in love with Oceanic!! Happy Friday! Ria :)

Salon Perfect Neon POP... Gone Sailing

got the great news this week that all my brain scans were normal, and showed no sign of seizure! so whatever the problem is... it isn't electrical. thank you so much to everyone who sent prayers and happy thoughts my way :)

today i have Salon Perfect Gone Sailing from their Neon POP collection to share with you all! i found this and one more Neon POP color at my local Walmart... i was so glad to be able to snag them. Gone Sailing is a teal with a hint of shimmer... in most lights, it simply looks like a creme! you only need two coats over white for complete opacity... but you do need to be careful when applying, it dries super quickly so you easily get patchiness and drag marks. to bring out the beauty of this polish, you will definitely want to add a shiny topcoat!

i'm officially going to say this color is the most difficult to photograph. any color like this i have struggled and struggled! it's a medium teal on the nail, but as soon as you look through the viewfinder, it becomes baby blue... what's up with that?!

one coat Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, two coats Gone Sailing, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (Sugar Cube and Crystal Clear Top Coat are press samples).

please excuse the orange fingers... i adjusted the color as best i could, but it's still a bit more deep on the nail!

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

jump lesson tonight... since the daylight is getting shorter, my lesson is earlier so Mr. Pawlish won't be able to come anymore to video me. total bummer. can't believe it's September already! Ria :)

Inni Nail Vinyls in Christmas

i want to thank you all so much for voting for my Inni Nail Design... i won!! that means my design was given out to celebrities, and i got a membership to their Inni Premium club for a year... so i will have three designs a month a for a year! i'm super excited and so thankful to all of you :)

today i have Inni Nail Vinyls in the design Christmas (simply use the search feature on www.inni.com and enter in Christmas to find it... there are other designs named Christmas, but this one is by Katja) to share with you all! these were kindly sent to me as a press sample for review :) Inni Nail Vinyls are a new nail wrap that are made of vinyl and apply exactly like a sticker. they don't need topcoat, and simply peel off when you are done with them! i love the ease of it, i know other wraps require water and other things... since these were my first experience with wraps ever, i think i would be hard pressed to ever try the other, more difficult/effort required, wraps!

here's a look at Christmas!

definitely made some mistakes with my application, and i do think there is a learning curve involved. you find the video from Inni instructing you on application here! in the video there is a little ruler at the top of the sheet, but mine didn't have one, so i just laid my finger against the strips and guessed. this is probably not the best method, as i kept choosing ones too small! since they are stickers, you can simply put them back if you get the wrong size.

i used a cuticle pusher with a rubber tip and the Revlon File-n-Smooth Nail File for application. the cuticle pusher i used because i had seen it used in an application video for other wraps and it seemed like a great idea. i used the Revlon nail file because i couldn't find the file i was sent to use... i, of course, found it still in the envelope after i was done! i swear i checked there multiple times... sheesh. the good thing is, i can definitely recommend that you NOT use these metal files, it didn't work as well as the more traditional cardboard one would.

here's a look at the tools! including the file i *should* have used.

before you start applying, i recommend *not* applying lotion... this is my usual routine before polish application, but i feel it kept the vinyls from from bonding as best they could. also, rub your nail really well with polish remover or acetone right before you apply... i just did a cursory swipe and i don't think i got my nails clean enough. once you are ready, get the sticker right down to the cuticle and press it down towards the sides and top of the nail. Inni recommends that you stretch it/pull it a bit as you apply! i then used the cuticle pusher to really get the sticker under my cuticles all around my nail for a more seamless look. i did get a little wrinkling... i think it's just going to take practice to get better at application. once they are pressed completely, fold the excess over the nail. i made the mistake on some nails of sticking the excess together into a point before filing... it works way better if you simply fold it flat off the nail like it shows in the video! then take your file and take off the excess with downward strokes. my most important recommendation is to not try refiling once you are done. i had a little bit of lifting on a couple nails, so i went over all my nails again... this caused them all to lift up all over! i'm glad i made some mistakes, though, so i can keep you guys from having to go through it :) because i did that, i only kept mine on a couple days.

you can see the shine on these... it's so cool that they are so shiny with no topcoat needed! i got loads of compliments on these, Mama Pawlish is a huge fan :D what's nice is you can use them from either direction, so it's easy to make an accent nails with designs like these that don't have a clear top and bottom.

*INNI Nails comes in a set of 30 pieces with 13 different sizes for both hands, from very small to very big so that both young girls and grown-ups can enjoy the perfect fit. Customers also receive a compact nail file along with instructions on how to apply the nail stickers and how to find your correct size. Custom sets retail online starting from $9.90 with free shipping everywhere.

i hope you enjoyed this look at Inni Nail Vinyls! are these something you would give a try? i look forward to trying out more designs and sharing them with you all! Ria :)
