Two Finish French Tips With Dr.'s Remedy and Salon Perfect!

tomorrow i'm heading to the dermatologist... hopefully, she can help me get my skin better under control so i can start doing some full face looks on here :) i'm going to do a little Christmas shopping after that, i know it's early but i have that yummy 20% off coupon from Ulta so hopefully i find the things i'm looking for at a better price. let me know if you'd like to see a Christmas ideas post... it will be here before we know it!

today i have a French manicure with a bit of twist to share with you all today! i decided to leave the pink base matte, and add shiny white polish to the tips... it makes it so visually interesting, and adds a little something to your basic French. as usual, i did chevron tips... i just love them AND they are so much easier than the traditionals :D

i used three coats of   Dr.'s Remedy Promising Pink as the base color, topped with a coat of Dr.'s Remedy Modest Matte Topcoat. i finished off the look with one coat of Salon Perfect Sugar Cube in a chevron French tip... i love how it turned out! (all three of these products are press samples, kindly provided to me for review!).

you can find Dr.'s Remedy products at http://www.remedynails.com, the polishes retail for $17! also check them out on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Remedynails.

Salon Perfect polishes are sold exclusively at Walmart and www.Walmart.com and retail for $3.98. make sure to check out the other offerings from Salon Perfect! you can also check Salon Perfect out at www.SalonPerfect.comon Facebook (@SalonPerfectLashes), Instagram (@SalonPerfect), Twitter (@Salon_Perfect), Pinterest (pinterest.com/salonperfect), and even YouTube (youtube.com/salonperfect).

hope you enjoyed this twist on the traditional French manicure! Ria :)

Dr.'s Remedy Modest Matte Topcoat

i can't even believe i'm typing this... but my computer is still throwing up the blue screen! i guess i'm going to have to take it somewhere... but i can't imagine what else they can do, since i did a total reformat. yikes!

today i have Dr.'s Remedy Modest Matte Topcoat to share! i have swatches of it over Dr.'s Remedy Loyal Linen and Dr.'s Remedy Promising Pink... and both are over Dr.'s Remedy Basic Basecoat (all four are press samples, kindly provided to me for review!).

Modest Matte is (like the name suggests) a mattifying topcoat that gives any polish a satin matte finish. you will only need one coat! make sure your base color is even because i did find that the matte effect makes any patchiness a little more noticeable :)

first up, here's Modest Matte over Loyal Linen!

and now, Modest Matte over Promising Pink :)

Dr.'s Remedy nail products include great ingredients such as Tea Tree Oil, vitamins, and wheat proteins and are free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, camphor, parabens, xylene, and dibutyl phthalate :) they are also touted to be the #1 recommended brand by podiatrists!

you can find Dr.'s Remedy products at http://www.remedynails.com, the polishes retail for $17! also check them out on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Remedynails.

next up will be a French manicure i did using Promising Pink and Modest Matte... with a little twist! Happy Wednesday! Ria :)

Dr.'s Remedy Promising Pink

headed and rode Miss Echo today... and it was HOT! dang, this weather is so weird, icy cold one and super hot the next. i was to be able to spray her off with the hose though finally, she was looking pretty dirty :)

today we are checking out the only other colored polish i have to share from Dr.'s Remedy, Promising Pink! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). Promising Pink is a milky, pastel pink creme. i love how soft the color is, super delicate and... perfect for a French mani :) i did actually do a French with this polish that i will be sharing later this week! two coats makes for a nice fairly wash, but i decided to go with three in order to make it more like it looks in the bottle. i do recommend at least two because coat one will probably go on a bit streaky. this swatch is with no topcoat... SO shiny all on its own! i would definitely add a topcoat to seal in the polish if this wasn't just a for a swatch picture, though :)

one coat Dr.'s Remedy Basic Basecoat, three coats Promising Pink.

can't believe it's already the last week in October... where did the year go?! Ria :)

Dr.'s Remedy Loyal Linen

everything is looking good with the computer since the total reformat... still keeping my fingers crossed that the problem is completely wiped out! i'm really happy because i was able to find all the pictures that had been backed up previously, which means i didn't lose my dogs' pictures from when i first adopted them :)

today i have Dr.'s Remedy Loyal Linen to share! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). Loyal Linen is a sheer cream colored polish with a creme finish... so, a cream creme! it has very beige undertones as opposed to the usual pink, which is a nice alternative for a French manicure... i did a traditional French tip with this color, but i don't have pictures because i'm still getting used to the paper reinforcer method and had a little smearing :)  Loyal Linen is pretty sheer, but i built it up to a nice level of opacity in three coats. i also liked it at two, but decided to add one more just to be able to see more of the color! i would definitely go with at least two coats because coat one was just a bit streaky. this swatch is without any topcoat... it's so shiny all by itself! i would probably go ahead and add a topcoat if this wasn't just for a swatch to improve longevity... i wanted to leave it since i was going to to be adding Dr.'s Remedy Modest Matte Topcoat after taking these pictures!

one coat Dr.'s Remedy Basic Basecoat, three coats Loyal Linen.

Dr.'s Remedy Basic Basecoat

Miss Echo got the day off today, she's been going full tilt since Saturday... so she got today to rest before our jump lesson tomorrow! hopefully we will have jump lesson... it's been raining and raining, so the ground might be sludge. if not, working on dressage is always good :D

...well, that was as i far as i got before the computer completely failed. i did a complete reformat this time... fingers crossed!

i have a few polishes from Dr.'s Remedy to share with you all, and we are going to kick it off with their Basic Basecoat! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). like other polishes in this line, it's enriched with Tea Tree Oil, vitamins, and wheat protein. you can wear it on its own for a subtle shine, or under polish to protect your natural nail. this doesn't have enough hardeners in it for my type of super weak nail, but i love that it's full of great ingredients!

here's a look at it on my nails!

in addition to having great ingredients such as Tea Tree Oil, vitamins, and wheat proteins, it's free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, camphor, parabens, xylene, and dibutyl phthalate :) it's also touted to be the #1 recommended brand by podiatrists!

the next few posts will feature a couple colors and then their Modest Matte Topcoat, so be sure to check back soon. hope you are well! Ria :)

Pixi Makeup Swatches!

sorry about the long time in between posts! i'm still working on trying to get into a schedule... plus, the computer keeps cutting off, which makes posting so frustrating. i *think* i've figured out that the SD card drive is corrupt somehow... but i don't know how to fix it. going to have to get my brother up here to work on it!

i'm super excited to share some Pixi makeup swatches with you all today! all three of these products are press samples, kindly provided to me for review :)

the products are... Crayon Combo in Super Smokey, Fairy Dust in Snow Sparkle, and Tinted Brilliance Balm in Soft Sienna!

here's a look at them out of their boxes...

first in the swatches is the Crayon Combo in Super Smokey. there is a black side and a shimmery charcoal greY side... the charcoal side is my fave! this pencil does not set up as hard as their Endless Silky Eye Pens, so they are much easier to smoke out for a smokey eye. i left it on my arm for around fifteen minutes and could still smear it a little, but the pigment was really stuck onto my skin, i still have a shadow of it left the next day! keep forgetting to get it off with makeup remover :) Fairy Dust in Snow Sparkle is a shimmery white pigment... i love that there is an applicator built in to the lid. it makes using pigments SO much easier and less messy! last up there is the Tinted Brilliance Balm in Soft Sienna. it's a sheer orangey red balm which applies super easily and is great option for days when you just wanted moisture and a touch of color! i have a Tinted Brilliance Balm in another color that i bought myself and love how easy it is and the smell is nice, too!

swatches!!

hope you enjoyed these swatches, let me know if you'd like to see more! i have lots of Pixi products as it's one of my all time favorite makeup brands :) i'm hoping to do some full face makeup looks soon, but i've got to get my skin under control first!

hope you are all having a fantastic week! Ria :)

Pixi Color of the Month... Matte Black

i can't believe i'm saying this... but my computer is up to its blue screen o' death shenanigans again! so frustrating to have to keep restarting, i'm on my third attempt at this blog post. did a fitness ride with Echo today... we are both ridiculously out of shape, so one day each week is going to be dedicating to getting in shape :)

today i have Pixi's October Color of the Month to share with you... Matte Black! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). the name pretty much gives this one away... it's a black polish that dries to a matte finish! it really looks like a chalkboard once it's done drying. as you continue to wear it, it will turn to more of a satin finish, and i had a bit of shine around my tips. i used two coats for full opacity, make sure to keep your coats even as it's not super self-leveling so you could end up slightly uneven looking. this one could be worn either as its natural matte, or could be turned glossy with a high shine top coat!

two coats Matte Black.

these polishes retail for $8. you can find Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!! Matte Black is a limited edition shade that will only be available at PixiBeauty.com while supplies last... so make sure to order soon if it's something you're interested in it :) this is the direct link to the Pixi Beauty Nail Colour page!

coming up next are some Pixi makeup swatches, so make sure to check back :D

yesterday was Mr. Pawlish's birthday and he had the day off since it was Columbus Day... so i'm completely feeling like today is Monday, i've been confused all day! hope you are all having awesome Tuesdays! Ria :)

Half Moon Mani Using Lauren B. Beauty!

had a good dressage lesson today, trying to work on getting all the pieces together to make a whole... which is way harder than one would think :) plus, my body gets tried after about 30 minutes and absolutely refuses to do what i want it to anymore... soooo frustrating. when i got home, Mama Pawlish had made bruschetta... which just happens to be one of my most favorite foods in the whole world! it was totally awesome :D

as promised, today i have a little Lauren B. Beauty nail art to share with you all! i used City of Angels as the base, and Where's My Oscar for the half moon. (both of them are press samples, kindly provided to me for review!).

i was sent a press release with steps on how to achieve the look... and here they are!

Step 1: Apply Lauren B. Beauty Nail Couture’s Dual Base Top Coat to the base of your nail and let dry.
Step 2: Paint the entire nail with two coats of Lauren B. Beauty Nail Couture’s City Of Angels and let dry.
Step 3: Create an accent nail on your ring finger by painting a gold half moon with Lauren B. Beauty Nail Couture’s Where’s My Oscar (TIP: Use a hole punch reinforcement sticker, available at office supply stores, as a stencil to make this quick and easy!)
Step 4: Shine and seal by applying the Dual Base Top Coat again and letting dry for 2 minutes.

since i don't have their Dual Base Top Coat, i used Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat (also a press sample). i actually used it over City of Angels to help it dry faster before i used the hole punch reinforcer as well as at the end to seal everything in! another little change i made is to do the half moon on all my nails, instead of just making one an accent. one big tip i have is to make sure the reinforcer is stuck down completely, you can see on some of my nails where the polish leeched up a bit. also, don't try and make it less sticky by sticking it on your skin first... you need all the stick it has to make it stay in place! i tried it that way first and the little things were flying everywhere :D

here it is!

you can find Lauren B. Beauty polishes at www.LaurenBBeauty.com, find them on all their social media through there! make sure to check out their Facebook :)

i hope you enjoyed this little mini nail art... it's a bit out of my comfort zone, and certainly didn't turn out perfectly... but i actually got compliments on it! other people aren't looking to see all the flaws. if you try this out, i would love to see it... feel free to post it on my Facebook page!

huge thanks to Lauren B. Beauty, i loved testing these beauties out! Ria :)

Lauren B. Beauty City of Angels

had a dressage lesson scheduled for today, but it got rescheduled for tomorrow... which was a good thing because the weather has been weird all day. rain, then bright sun, then rain again... make up your mind, already :D

i'm excited to share City of Angels from Lauren B. Beauty with you all today! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). City of Angels is a pale pink creme, definitely one of my all time favorite shade types! the formula is pretty thick, but not too hard to work with. if i have to choose, i would much rather have a thick polish than a thin one... i hate it when they run into my cuticles. this beauty was opaque in only two coats and dries with a bit of shine... but it's greatly enhanced by adding a shiny topcoat!

two coats City of Angels, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (both are press samples).

coming up next will be the half moon nail design i did using City of Angels and Where's My Oscar! Ria :)

Lauren B. Beauty Where's My Oscar

i appear to STILL be having issues with my computer, can you believe it?! i tried making it go back to an earlier time... or whatever that's called. i'm just not good with computers at all! i haven't been having trouble with it, but bam... suddenly that blue screen of death is back. hopefully it will sort itself out!

i'm super excited to share a new to me brand, Lauren B. Beauty with you all... my next three posts will be featuring polish from them :D the third will actually be my attempt at recreating their nail art!

up today is Where's My Oscar! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's a golden polish in a pearl finish with the tiniest pieces of glitter in pink and green. they are pretty hidden, so it mostly just gives depth to the polish, unless you get real eyeball to nail with it! it's almost chrome, but not quite... just a nice golden nail. there are a few visible brushstrokes, not very noticeable... but if you really hate brushstrokes it might be a deal breaker for you! application is super easy, two coats for full opacity. definitely add a high shine topcoat to bring out all this polish has to offer!

two coats Where's My Oscar, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat. (both are press samples).

you can find Lauren B. Beauty polishes at www.LaurenBBeauty.com, find them on all their social media through there! make sure to check out their Facebook :)

next up is City of Angels... and it's a pale pink creme... BE STILL MY HEART!

Happy Monday! Ria :)
