China Glaze Cheers! Holiday 2015 Collection Press Release

ended up having one of my neurological spells yesterday... crazy how i will go a couple months with out one... then, BAM!, i'm hit with a bad one. i still went to my riding lesson yesterday, since it was pouring we worked on dressage rather than jumping... which was fine by me since i already wasn't feeling well. thankfully, today was way better! Mama Pawlish and i did a little shopping and got some fantastic deals... if you live near a LOFT, you should check it out :D

i got the email for this press release about China Glaze Cheers!, which is their holiday collection for 2015, and i couldn't wait to share it with you all! i love how happy most holiday collections are, and this looks like a great one... i love that they didn't go with predictable reds and greens. i'm losing my marbles over 'Coal Hands, Warm Heart', described as a midnight blue holographic glitter!! *faints*

enjoy!

c. Booth 4-in-1 Multi-Action Passion Fruit Body Lotion

been working on stretching out my new riding boots over the past few days... it was torture at first, but they are finally getting to where i want them to be! i used the trick of putting rubbing alcohol on the inside then wearing them... can't believe how well it worked. i should have a jump lesson tomorrow... unless it rains, them we'll be in the indoor for dressage!

today i have a review for you for an item i was able to get through Influenster! i received to pick out a c. Booth product for free... i (naturally) picked up mine at Ulta :) i chose the 4-in-1 Multi-Action Passion Fruit Body Lotion... it may be a mouthful, but i really love it! i knew i wanted to try a body lotion because i already have shower products that i feel are perfect for me... but i'm always on the hunt for the next great lotion :D

c. Booth 4-in-1 Multi-Action Passion Fruit Body Lotion smells completely amazing... i smelled all four of their 4-in-1 lotion line and wasn't a fan of any but the passion fruit... but it only takes one! a teensie bit of this product goes a really long way... and coming in at 32 fluid ounces, you will not have to purchase this often. i love the slip of this product and it dries down nicely... it's not one that stays wet feeling (which i definitely appreciate!).

here are the benefits this product touts, copied directly from the C. Booth website...

1. Exfoliates: Malic Acid works tirelessly to ditch dead skin cells and even out skin tone, helping sun-damaged areas look healthy and happy.
2. Hydrates: Sweet Almond, Apricot Kernel and Shea Butter oils work in perfect harmony to hydrate thirsty skin.
3. Nourishes: Antioxidant vitamins and minerals valiantly fight off harsh environment forces that threaten skin health.
4. Firms: Caffeine wakes up less-than-taut skin, helping to firm and rejuvenate!

you can purchase c. Booth products on their C. Booth website and in lots of stores nationwide in the US. c. Booth is owned by Freeman Beauty, and you can use the store locater on the website to find places Freeman Beauty products are sold :) Freeman Beauty's website houses all their brands, making it easy to check out other products! c. Booth 4-in-1 Multi-Action Passion Fruit Body Lotion retails for $9.99, but when i got it at Ulta, it was on sale... so make sure to stay up with sales if you are looking to grab one!

i've used other c. Booth products in the past and have found them to be a solid brand... have you tried anything by them? what do you think?

hope you are all having wonderful weeks! Ria :)

Comodynes Make-Up Remover Towelettes for Normal Skin

had a great jump lesson today, and my dressage lesson yesterday went really well, too! although... yesterday a horse stepped on my foot while i leading her out of the pasture... OUCH. thankfully, i don't think anything broke, it's just majorly bruised! i'll take that any day.

today i have a completely new to me brand, Comodynes, to share with you all! they were kind enough to send me their Make-Up Remover Towelettes for Normal Skin to try out :) these are infused with a micellar solution which really helps to break up makeup!

i've tried loads of different brands of makeup remover wipes, so i was really excited to give these a go. the first thing i noticed after opening the package was the scent... it smells so lovely! it reminds of an expensive cream you'd get at a facial... not perfumey, just fresh and inviting. the wipes are fairly large, not the biggest i've seen, but far from the smallest.

these are touted as removing all makeup in a minute, even waterproof makeup! i can't speak to that as i don't even have any waterproof makeup, but can attest it works really well on all face makeup and mascara. if you have a lot of mascara on with a base, you will have to work harder to get it off... but it absolutely does come off. i prefer not to have to rub my eyes so much, so i put on a cream eye makeup remover, then use the wipes to remove it and the rest of my face makeup. i only need one wipe for everything!

there are also remover wipes geared towards specific skin types... here's the press on those!

  • The original makeup remover towelette for Normal Skin (white package) with Mallow (soothes, heals and softens) is designed for all skin types.  Removes even the most stubborn makeup – including waterproof - and dirt.  In one minute, your skin is clean and bright, and ready for bed, the gym or a fresh, new makeup look.
Available in convenient resealable 20 towelette carry packs.  (SRP: $6.25.)

  • For Sensitive & Dry Skin, micellar cleansing towelettes with Oats and Lotus Flower (yellow package) remove impurities and makeup, leaving the skin soft, clean, toned and moisturized.  Thanks to the soothing and nourishing properties of Oats and Lotus Flower, this formula is perfect for dry and sensitive skin types. Alcohol free. Available in convenient resealable 20 towelette carry packs.  (SRP: $6.25.)

  • A must for women with super sensitive skin, Comodynes’ Super Sensitive towelettes (pink package) use a soothing formula that contains CalendulaChamomile and Tilia extracts, among others, making it mild for even the most sensitive skin.  The towelettes do not contain any aggressive surfactants (SLES & SLS) and have been microbiologically test to ensure a comfortable cleansing action.  (SRP: $7.50.)

  • Designed for Oily & Combination Skin (green package), Comodynes uses Green Tea and Hamamelis Water – a formula that is ideal for mixed/oily skin.  The Green Tea provides anti-bacterial and antioxidant benefits, while the Hamamelis Water helps keep skin clear and absorbs oil.  Available in convenient resealable 20 towelette carry packs.  (SRP: $6.25.)

the tipping for me is the scent... i definitely plan on ordering these from their website, www.Comodynes.net. there are 20 towelettes in a pack, and the price is better if you buy multiple packs... $6.25 for 1 pack, $22.00 for 4 packs, and $26.00 for 5 packs! i'm leaning towards the 5 pack deal, as you do have to pay for shipping... the price of shipping increases with the dollar amount spent, so that has to be factored in.

have you heard of Comodynes? tried them? let me know!

Happy Wednesday! Ria :)

You're Still The One!... Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat

Mama Pawlish hasn't been feeling well, so i've been helping her with doctors and tests this week. my riding lesson today got canceled, which turned okay because Mama Pawlish had to go get a test done at a place that was really confusing to find! hoping the doctor figures out what's going on soon.

i thought i'd like to do some posts on things i was really excited about the first time i reviewed them... and am still madly in love with them to this day! i wanted to start out with Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat... it's my all-time, holy grail topcoat :D you can read my original review HERE.

it dries really quickly, dries the polish under, AND is ultra glossy! i used up my press samples and am now on to buying bottles myself. it's just better than anything else on the market in my opinion... and it's only $3.96! i really appreciate the price point, and the fact it lasts longer before thickening in the bottles than other (far more expensive) comparable brands. it works best over something, so lay down a basecoat if you just want shiny nails. it does seem to be more glossy over traditional polish, though!

<3 the bottle <3

Salon Perfect products are exclusive to Walmart stores and Walmart.com and most retail for $3.98. THIS is the direct link to Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat on the website!

Salon Perfect High-Shine Top Coat comes in a three piece kit... it's a nice topcoat, but i don't like it nearly as much as Crystal Clear! it doesn't dry as fast, which majorly bums me out.

have you tried this topcoat? is it as amazing to you as it is to me?! let me know! Ria :)

Book Review :: Simply Glamorous: Make-up Transformations to Make You Look and Feel Fabulous by Gary Cockerill

i'm SO excited to bring you today's post! i was given the opportunity to receive a galleys copy of Simply Glamorous: Make-up Transformations to Make You Look and Feel Fabulous by Gary Cockerill to review... and i couldn't send my address fast enough after reading the synopsis. once i actually got the book in the mail... it was even better than i'd hoped for! how often does that happen?!

i wanted to post this review today as it's the official release day of Simply Glamorous! it's recommended retail price is $26.99... but get it now HERE on Amazon.com for $15.14 :D i already bought a copy for my sisters... this is the book i've been searching for to really give them a solid foundation in beauty. can't wait for them to get it!

Simply Glamorous takes you from identifying your skin type and tone to how to apply dramatic full face makeup looks. while it's ideal for beginners, i also believe it to be an excellent reference for those well-versed in the beauty world. if for nothing else... the photos are INCREDIBLE and excellent inspiration for your own looks.

let's get into the book itself! all the following photos are taken of content from Simply Glamorous by Gary Cockerill. Copyright © 2015 by the author and reprinted by permission of St. Martin’s Griffin. please do not use without proper credit!

here's a look at the front cover... right away, drop dead gorgeousness! perfection as a coffee table book.

and the back cover :)

i love that there is a really fantastic index page making it easy to find what you're looking for.

each of the three sections starts out with a beautiful two page spreads... first up is Face!

lots of helpful information in the Face section, it really speaks to the foundation of all makeup... skin!

i really love these skin tone identifying pages... i also love that it goes all the way from ultra fair to ultra dark.

the book walks you through step-by-step... including how to prepare your skin for makeup!

the next section is Eyes!

some of the eye looks covered in this section also come with full face directions as well... one stop shopping :)

these pages show how to get the perfect flick with eyeliner... definitely one of my go-to looks!

not only is there everyday makeup, but also much more colorful and fun looks! which can, of course, be everyday if that's what you're in the mood for :D

last up... Lips!

the pages on lip shapes really helps give an idea on what exactly to do to make it easy to work with what you have... no lip injections needed :) {the Eyes section has a few pages dedicated to doing the same thing with your eyes and brows on pages 94-97!}

if you've had trouble picking the right red for your skin tone... Gary Cockerill has you covered!

here... is my dreamland, the land of nude lips! i love how in depth the tutorial is on how to get the PERFECT nude lips :)

the Lips section also has some full face looks... loving this one with a purple smoky eye and red lips!

in the final couple pages before the Index, Gary Cockerill gives an overview of his favorite products... i LOVE seeing what pro makeup artists choose to use!

hope you've enjoyed this look into Simply Glamorous: Make-up Transformations to Make You Look and Feel Fabulous by Gary Cockerill... as you can probably tell, i'm just in love with it and so appreciative of the opportunity to receive a galleys copy.

if you pick it up, please let me know what you think and if you love it as much as i do... remember, it's on Amazon.com HERE for $15.14!

Happy Tuesday! Ria :)

OPI Int'l Crime Caper

Happy Columbus Day, Americans! and Happy Monday to everyone :D Mr. Pawlish's birthday is tomorrow, but he has to work... so, since he was off for the holiday today, we had his birthday lunch today. he still has to wait until tomorrow for his prezzies though!

today i have OPI Int'l Crime Caper to share! i was wanting a subtle, chic manicure and this polish really delivered. it's a ULTRA sheer milky white with pink and blue shimmers... i used three coats to get the look i wanted. at three it's not fully opaque, but it's enough to mask any flaws my nails have. if you have better looking nails, it's lovely at one and two coats as well! it would make a lovely base for a French manicure. it's not got much gloss to it on its own, so i highly recommend topcoat!

three coats Int' Crime Caper, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat (i used up my press samples and am on to buying bottles... it's the best!).

this is one you probably won't find in stores, i picked up mine at Marshalls awhile ago. it's from the Muppets Most Wanted collection... the good news is that you can pick it up off Amazon.com for less than $5 HERE!

i just realized i haven't done an OPI post in a LONGGGG time... hope you enjoyed this one!

hope you all have had a wonderful start to your week! Ria :)

You've Pared Down Your Polish Collection... Now What?

had a jump lesson today and it went really well! super happy to be back on my game after whiffling that lesson a couple weeks ago. Echo was super good... she earned two peppermints :D

i finally got up the gumption to sort through my massive polish collection! i'm about halfway through actually culling the polishes... it takes forever to divide them by color. however, i think it's the easiest way to decide what to keep! once i've got them divided by color, i pull out my fave brands and then see what else i have that's similar and can therefore leave. one thing you have to do is walk away from the project once you hit the wall where you just can't bear to let anything go... put each color group into its own bag and return to it later!

once you've got what you want to get rid of, i like to give a little to family and friends, and the bulk will go to charity :) most cities will have women's shelters that would love to have your extras to give to women in need... and i can't think of a better of cause! i'm planning on sending some of mine to a local women's shelter, and the rest will hopefully go to Costa Rica to help a woman missionary who is training women there to do their makeup and nails in order to look professional for jobs :)

here's the pile before sorting... i forgot to take a picture once it was in color groups!

once it was spread out, it took up most of my queen size bed... it was definitely time to find new homes for some. i found that some had completely dried out... which shouldn't happen, but it did! hate to think of polish being completely wasted. another reason i wanted to weed out my collection is that we move a lot due to Mr. Pawlish's job... and by giving it to charity, it really makes me feel good about my choice!

i know a lot of people are 'black hole collectors' and keep every polish that comes into their possession, and if they have room to do that i think it's great! i really enjoy seeing people's epic polish collections :D which kind of collector are you?

congratulations, you've made it halfway through the week! Ria :)
