FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle... Be Merry & Sparkle

i hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Mr. Pawlish took me to my favorite restaurant on Saturday... wish i could eat there everyday :D nothing better than Japanese hibachi... except maybe pizza! today is gross, cold, and rainy here... which i'm kind of glad about because i'm not feeling well. i hate missing barn days when it's beautiful outside.

today we have the final FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle collection polish... Be Merry & Sparkle! (it's press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's a beautiful glitter with multiple sized pieces of hex glitter in a clear base. i think you might be able to get this one opaque in several coats... but i do prefer it as a topper, and one coat is all you need. i used it over the teal FingerPaints Vintage Vincent (also a press sample from Tis the Season to Sparkle). this combo SCREAMS mermaid! it's a great mani for anytime... but i think it would be completely awesome for a New Year's Eve party :D definitely seal all those glitter pieces in with topcoat... a bonus being it makes the glitter super shiny!

one coat Be Merry & Sparkle over FingerPaints Vintage Vincent, finished off with Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

FingerPaints polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply and their website www.SallyBeauty.com!

i'm so thankful for the opportunity to try out these beauties!

Happy Monday! Ria :)

FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle... Vintage Vincent

i hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! we really enjoyed having Thanksgiving dinner with our church... and it was delicious :D i wanted to just do my Black Friday shopping online... but Ulta's website sold out of somethings before i could order... so Mr. Pawlish and i ended up driving to Ulta on Thanksgiving after all (because, stupidly, Black Friday starts on Thanksgiving Thursday!). to get all i wanted i ended up buy some things in store and ordering off the website as well. i'm so mad at myself because i dropped a cream eyeshadow i had bought as soon as i got home and cracked the lid :( so i'm keeping the whole thing in a plastic jar and hoping for the best! always completely accident prone. Mr. Pawlish and i went to the PX today hoping for some unadvertised specials... nothing great, just the deal that's been running for $5 off $20 purchase of beauty products. i got a few things that i've been eyeing... wish there had been a gift with purchase or something!

today's FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle polish is Vintage Vincent! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). this polish is a rich teal with a slight shimmer that is ultra finely milled. the shimmer is pretty hidden except for in bright light! i definitely don't understand the name of this polish... do you get it??

it applies easily, is opaque in two coats, and didn't have the issue with brushstrokes showing in the finish that some shimmers do. definitely add topcoat to make this polish glossy as it looks slightly dull on its own!

two coats Vintage Vincent, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

FingerPaints polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply and their website www.SallyBeauty.com!

did you go out for Black Friday? score anything amazing??

only one polish to go in the FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle collection... and it's a GORGEOUS glitter! Ria :)

FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle... Sterling Sculpture

so... i accidentally ate some raw ham today. Mama Pawlish had bought some country ham, and while she was cutting it up, i grabbed a few pieces. i thought it was precooked and just needed to be warmed up... but i was completely incorrect! can't believe i did that... can't believe nobody said anything! gross.

on a much happier note, today's FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle polish is Sterling Sculpture! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's a chunky silver hex glitter in different sizes set into a clear base. this is definitely one to use as a topper, it would take loads of coats to be opaque on its own. i used it over FingerPaints Romanesque Rouge (press sample) which is a red creme... these two together make for the perfect Christmas party polish! make sure to finish off with topcoat to bring out the glitter sparklies :)

one coat Sterling Sculpture over FingerPaints Romanesque Rouge.

Mr. Pawlish will hopefully only have a half day tomorrow... that way i can drag him to my jumping lesson to take videos! hope you all are having a fun week! Ria :)

FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle... Romanesque Rouge

it was really chilly today... i actually wore long sleeves to the barn! for someone like me, that means it's definitely c-o-l-d :D i can't believe that's it actually Thanksgiving week already. i'm super excited to eat dinner at church... they order in the best turkey and stuffing and have a community Thanksgiving meal. i'm so blessed to have a wonderful church family :)

today's FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle polish Romanesque Rouge! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's a warm, saturated red creme that looks kind of squishy... not quite a crelly (creme/jelly) but certainly leaning in that direction. i only needed two coats for full opacity and it applies with very little fuss. it's shiny on it's own, but even better with topcoat... topcoat really brings out that little bit of squish!

two coats Romanesque Rouge, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

Happy Monday! Ria :)

FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle... Tinsel & Tidings

Mama Pawlish and i went and visited my Nonna in the nursing home yesterday... as usual, it was just emotionally exhausting. i don't think she knew who we were again :( Alzheimer's really stinks! i'm definitely looking forward to having a walking day with Echo tomorrow. after those trips i just need to be with Mr. Pawlish, snuggle my doggies, and ride my horse! since on Mondays we just walk up and down hills to keep her nice and strong, it will just be a relaxing fun ride :)

Tinsel & Tidings is the next polish up for review in the FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle collection! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). this polish is a glitter with different sized hex pieces in gold, blue, and raspberry suspended in a clear base. it's one i would just use as a topper as it would be quite difficult to get opaque. it's absolutely lovely to bring even more dimension to your manicure! i put it over FingerPaints Golden Glaze which is a gold chrome, also from the Tis the Season to Sparkle collection! (press sample). as with all glitters, use a topcoat to bring out all those twinkling glitter pieces!

one coat Tinsel & Tidings over FingerPaints Golden Glaze, finished off with Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

FingerPaints polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply and their website www.SallyBeauty.com!

i hope your weekend has left you refreshed and ready for the new week! Ria :)

FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle... Golden Glaze

it was a dreary, rainy day here in Maryland so no barn today. i've got a lot coming up this weekend, so i worked out that i could get a lot done without feeling like i'm missing out! had two excellent lessons this week, and a day of hill walking, so at least Echo and i got some good work in this week :)

today we're kicking off the FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle collection with the polish Golden Glaze! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). Golden Glaze is a gold chrome which is ultra sparkly and party perfect. two coats give you full opacity and the formula is easy to work with. i love chromes which looks like you have metal for fingernails! i've decided i prefer chromes without topcoat as they seem to be more sparkly without it, and they are very susceptible to wrinkling from the topcoat... not sure why.

two coats Golden Glaze :)

FingerPaints polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply and their website www.SallyBeauty.com!

keep checking back, five polishes to go in the FingerPaints Tis the Season to Sparkle collection! Ria :)

Pixi Holiday 2015 Endless Silky Eye Pen Quartette

i can't believe we're already into the holiday season... i know i feel this way every year, but dang! where did the year go?! the great thing about the very beginning of the season is that cosmetic companies release their holiday collections... and for a beauty junkie like me, it's drool time :D

today i have the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen Quartette to share with you all... it's from their 2015 Holiday Collection! (it's a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). in the Quartette you'll receive four mini Eye Pens for $18. i actually already owned all but one of these... the others i had bought years ago, i'm such a fan of these bad boys!

Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pens are ultra creamy and go onto the lid so easily. just make sure not to push too hard as they will smush down! they are far softer than a lot of pencil eyeliners on the market, which makes them so much more friendly feeling on the lid. once they set, they don't budge on me, which is why i've been a fan for so long! i can't wear them on my waterline as they tend to get on my contacts before they have a chance to set, that is my only issue with them! as with any pencil eyeliner i've ever tried, there is no way to get that super sharp flick you get with wet liner... so they might not be for you if you are only looking for that super precise cat eye!

here's the packaging :)

the colors included are ::

BlackNoir, BlackCocoa, DeepPlum, SlateGrey

i had all but SlateGrey, which is just as lovely as the others. i love that it and DeepPlum have a hint of metallic in their finish!

here's them all swatched :D

i also wanted to share what else is in Pixi's 2015 Holiday Collection! i have my eye on that Mattelustre Lipstick Quartette... think that's going to have to come home with me when i make it to Target!

you can find Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!!

so excited to have SlateGrey now!! anything you'll be picking up from the collection?

hope your week is amazing! Ria :)

Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation

this post was supposed to go up yesterday, which was Veteran's Day in the US, but my internet went down... so, i still want to say a HUGE thank you to all our veteran's! thank you all, human and animal, for giving so much of yourselves to protect our freedom <3

today i have a foundation to share with you all! it's Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation (a press sample, kindly provided to me for review). i love that it comes in a sleek bottle with a pump... i can't stand foundations that don't have a pump or are in a squeezy tube. i just hate dealing with tipping the bottle... i'm far too messy a human for that. it. gets. EVERYWHERE.

here's how it's packaged!

this foundation is oil-free and has SPF 15... i would still put on sunscreen under it during the summer, but i love any extra protection i can get! the finish is beautiful, slightly dewy, but not enough so that your face looks slick. it lasts well on me, both without primer and with using a spray primer... like most foundations, it will last longer with primer! i prefer to set it with powder, as i'm a bit oily and the 'dewy' look will return soon enough :)

i was sent Shade 2 for review, which is pretty dark on me... if you are ultra fair/porcelain, i doubt you will find a color match in this line. i tried Shade 1 by getting a little Smashbox counter sample. it's lighter, but still not quite light enough! the major is issue is both shades pull extremely orange on me.

here is Shade 2 on my hand... you can really see the orange undertone. it's not nearly so blatant blended, though!

and finally, on my face! it looks a bit darker on me in person... the orange is a bit more obvious around my chin in the photo for some reason, but it's gives you an idea. if i use a light colored powder to set it and then do a lot of highlighter, i can make it work.

all i have on my face other than Liquid Halo is mascara... i took a few pictures without it, but i just needed that mascara! :D

so, in summation... i absolutely adore the formula and finish of this foundation, no complaints there! if i could get it in a color to match my skin i would absolutely be using it often... but since i can't, there are other products that i don't have to work with nearly as hard to make my face match my body that i will be grabbing for instead.

make sure to check out Smashbox's website, www.Smashbox.com! this foundation retails for $42 and  can be bought straight off the website along with free shipping and samples in the US. you can also find it at Smashbox counters and my favie, fave... Ulta!

hope you are all wonderful!! Ria :)

Comodynes Coupon Code!

it's turned cold again here in Maryland... i've never lived somewhere that has such insane weather before! i'm thinking it's going to actually stay cold this time... but, who knows? i would definitely rather it pick a temperature rather than ratcheting up and down every day. Echo is already super furry... that doesn't bode well as to how much snow we'll be seeing o.O i'm hoping i'm wrong, i really just don't like snow. i mean, it's beautiful, but i hate having to be out in it or deal with it :D

today i want to share with you the coupon code that Comodynes shared on their Facebook page! it's a code for 10% off that was originally shared in Woman's Today magazine :) the code is WWCOMO10 and it's good until January 8, 2016! i've already put in my order... it got to me SO FAST. i ordered Friday night, and it was here today, Monday! i can't believe it :)

this photo is taken from the Comodynes Facebook page!

i was sent a package of the Comodynes Make-Up Remover Towelettes for Normal Skin as a press sample and am now completely hooked. i tried to use up the other brand i had purchased previously... but my skin is now spoiled and only wants the Comodynes :D read my review HERE!

let me know if you make an order and how you like them!

Happy Monday! Ria :)

Ulta ULTAmate Rewards Haulage!

had a jump lesson today, Echo was super good! this was excellent as i didn't feel very well... i probably shouldn't have been riding at all... but, you only live once, right?! got a lot going on the rest of the week... Mama Pawlish is having a biopsy tomorrow, and we won't find out if it's something bad or not until over a week later :( i'm praying hard that it's nothing!

i don't do many haul posts anymore, but i thought it would be fun to share what i got with my Ulta ULTAmate Rewards :) i always save up my points to 2000 as you get $125 to spend in store on anything. 2000 points is the cap, you'll start saving up for another 2000 after that... but you get more money to spend if you build them up. i try and be smart about them, and when i get 5x the points or something like that, i buy skincare and other higher ticket items. then i wait for a 20% off coupon that includes prestige brands, and i really score! i had 4000 points ($250!!) to spend, so i got loads of great stuff!!

here it is :D

i decided to use my points to try out It Cosmetics... and they are awesome! i also got several It Cosmetics brushes for Ulta from the Live Beauty Fully line, which i already was in love with.

if you aren't an Ulta ULTAmate Rewards member yet, go to Ulta.com now and sign up! or you can sign up in store :D

let me know if you spy anything in the picture you'd like a review on... there isn't a dud in the bunch!

hope you all are having wonderful weeks! Ria :)

Pixi Sample Box October 2015

Echo and i had a lazy day today and just wandered the farm... it was really nice! got a pretty full week ahead... nothing much fun, though.

today i have another Pixi sample box to share! (it was kindly provided to me for review). i have been testing the products out, and am ready to share my thoughts! this box contained the Correction Concentrate in Brightening Peach and Adaptable Beige, it also had the Natural Contour Powder in Shape & Shadow.

here's a peek in the box!

let's tackle the Concealing Concentrate first! both shades retail for $12.00.

i have been using the shade Brightening Peach for years, and was happy to try out Adaptable Beige. i have reviewed Brightening Peach several times in the past... but the formula has actually changed a bit! i can't believe it, but it's actually even better and creamier now. the color changed a bit, too... but i don't really notice a difference. this is still a product i use every time i put makeup on! the Brightening Peach works really well to conceal dark shadows under the eyes and broken capillaries. Adaptable Beige can be used just like a regular concealer, and is nice and creamy like its peachy friend! i find Adaptable Beige just a touch dark and orange for my ultra fair skin, i think it would work best on more light to medium skin that ultra porcelain!

next we have the Natural Contour Powder in Shape & Shadow retailing for $10.

this powder contour product has been raved about by several Youtubers... and i completely agree! it's a great brown color with strong greY undertones... perfect for contour on many skintones. it's super creamy and blends SO easily... i have been having to force myself to use other contour shades as this one is just so awesome to work with!

here are all the products swatched :)

you can find Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!!

if you can only get one thing... i think i'm going to have to go with the Natural Contour Powder! although, i would be quite sad without my Brightening Peach Correction Concentrate :D

hope you all enjoyed, Happy Monday! Ria :)
