FingerPaints Fast Dry... Cool Coral

Mr. Pawlish had the day off today and i was planning to go the barn. so, i let him off the hook and he stayed home while i went to go on a trail ride... i ended up just having a lazy hack around the property, which was nice to build trust between Tucker and me. Mr. Pawlish was pretty happy about this as he just doesn't appreciate being at the barn nearly as much as i do :D we're doing some tv marathoning this weekend... home with my husband and dogs = a perfect weekend in my eyes!

Cool Coral is today's FingerPaints Fast Dry polish! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's a orangey pink creme... almost more salmon than coral to me, but i think colors like coral, salmon, and peach have slightly different meanings to everyone. the color is beautiful, but it's a little a bit troublesome in its application. you absolutely will need two coats, because it will want to go patchy on you, and then add topcoat to make sure everything is completely smooth. i think this polish is trying to dry itself SO fast, that it causes the patchiness. however, after adding FingerPaints Fast Dry Top Coat (press sample), my manicure looks perfect!

two coats Cool Coral, one coat FingerPaints Fast Dry Top Coat.

FingerPaints polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply and their website! the Fast Dry collection will only be available August-October 2016, so don't wait to jump on the ones you want :D

have a fantastic weekend! Happy Friday! Ria :)

FingerPaints Fast Dry... Fathom Blue

whew, last day of helping at horse camp is over! Mr. Pawlish was nice enough to come hang out there for the morning while the kids' did a little performance showing off what they'd learned over the last few weeks. they did so well, it was fantastic :) i had my lesson afterwards, which Mr. Pawlish was kind enough to film some of for me so i can see what i'm doing wrong (and the the bits that are going right, too!). AND we made it home before the thunderstorm came :D

today we are checking out FingerPaints Fathom Blue from their Fast Dry collection. (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's a dark blue with a warm lighter blue shimmer... so pretty! in the bottle you can see a purple reflex in the shimmer, but that sadly does not transfer to the nail at all. the formula is pretty thick and you can definitely use one coat for full opacity... i used two, but i really didn't need to do so! after using two coats, the top dried, but i could still feel that it wasn't dried all the way through, so i definitely needed to also use the FingerPaints Fast Dry Top Coat (press sample). since it's a shimmer, topcoat helps it to looks its best anyways... shimmers always need topcoat to bring out all their sparklies!

two coats Fathom Blue, one coat FingerPaints Fast Dry Top Coat.

FingerPaints Fast Dry Top Coat

whew, last week felt so long! i worked at kids' horse camp all week, and took my riding lessons as well... all while being off my allergy medicine. this made my whole body cranky somehow and i was perma-exhausted! i had to go off the meds for my asthma testing, i'm so happy that i it done yesterday so i now i'm back on them :) i found out that while i probably have mild asthma... my major issue is that my vocal cords are closing when they should be open, mimicking asthma attacks! how crazy is that?! i've never heard of that happening, but the good news is that i'm going to go to a speech therapist who should be able to help me learn how to control my vocal cords better :)

i'm excited to start reviewing the FingerPaints Fast Dry collection! (press samples, kindly provided to me for review). the collection will debut in August 2016 (so, in less than a week!).

first up we have the Fast Dry Top Coat. it does dry down quite quickly to the point where you can rub your fingers on it and not smudge it, but you can still dent it with your nail. since you can rub the polish, you can somewhat rub the dent out... not completely, but it will be much less noticeable! it dries to a shiny finish, but like most topcoats, you will have to reapply keep it shiny... depending on how much you work with your hands will depend on how long you can go without reapplying! the lovely surprise of the collection is that it wears really well. i do get some tip wear, and if i pick at things like stickers i will get a little chipping. but even with working outside with horses it still looks pretty nice! per usual, my dominant hand does look a bit worse than my other :)

FingerPaints polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply and their website! the Fast Dry collection will only be available August-October 2016, so don't wait to jump on the ones you want :D

stay tuned... coming up next are the four color polishes of the collection!

Happy Wednesday! Ria :)

*NEW* Orly Breathable Treatment + Color! (Info & Press Announcements)

i am SO excited to finally be able to share the news about the Orly Breathable line! i've known about the new line for what seems like forever, but it's been a big secret :D i guess it hasn't really been all that long for me... but good news is always so tough to keep quiet!

Orly's new line, Breathable Treatment + Color is meant to be your all in one answer... just like the name, it's a treatment and color polish all in one. not to mention, somehow it allows oxygen and hydration to pass through to your nail! how that's possible is wayyy beyond my scope of science capabilities :D

here is the info from the official press release...

not only are there 18 colors, for those of us who want even more glossy shininess (me me me!) or feel like using just a simple clear coat, there is Treatment + Shine!

i'm so happy to be able to update this post with some press samples to give you guys a bottle shot! they were also kind enough to send a swatch card of the entire collection to really give an idea of what the colors look like in real life. i will, of course, be posting reviews of the polishes once i've had time to really try them out :D

swatch card...

and bottle shot!

for those of us that struggle with weak, constantly peeling nails (or other nail issues), this product seems designed especially for us! will you be trying out Breathable?? let me know what you guys think!

Happy Thursday! Ria :)

Pixi Glow Tonic To-Go

it feels like it's been such a long week already... but it's only Wednesday! helping out at the kids' pony camp at my barn is really throwing off my sense of time somehow. they are doing really well and improving so much, it's really cool to see :) Princess Echo is still on the road to recovery... i'm hoping she will be able to go back to work in a few weeks! until then, i'm really enjoying riding Tucker, he's a really sweet guy. apparently, really is my adjective of the day today :D

the product i have to share today is so cool... Pixi Glow Tonic To-Go! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's their much lauded (including by me, HERE) exfoliating toner in pad form, which makes it so very easy... perfect for travel. it retails for $18 and comes with 60 pads... i always use one at night and rarely use one in the morning, so one jar lasts me about two months.

by the way... it came in this adorable little 'mailer'. SO CUTE!

i'm pretty resistant to change, so when i got this in my blogger sample box, i wasn't sure what to think. i was so obsessed by the original liquid from of Glow Tonic (which i always have purchased myself) that i couldn't imagine using a 'pre-fab' version. i have been using them for over a month now... and you know what? i'm sold!

i love that i don't have to mess around with a cotton round and pouring out the toner... for someone like me, the less steps, the better! i've really been considering which version i'm going to repurchase, as i absolutely cannot be without this product, and i've settled on the To-Go. the result is exactly the same and it's just easy... and if i have to go anywhere, they're way easier to pack. no need to take up precious room in the liquids pouch on the airplane, either! #moreroomformakeup

either version of Glow Tonic has 5% glycolic acid, aloe vera, and ginseng. somehow, this is just the magic combo for perfect skin... i don't know how, but it really does make your skin seem to glow. i know that 5% glycolic acid doing that yummy chemical exfoliation is absolutely excellent. i think it's helping to fade some of my uneven skin tone and that it works with my retinoid gel to help get my skin as good looking as possible!

Glow Tonic To-Go retails for $18. Pixi products are sold exclusively at Target stores,, and!!

Happy Wednesday! Ria :)

Pixi Lash Nourish Makeup Remover Pads

the past four days have flown by! Mr. Pawlish took Thursday and Friday off, and he was kind enough to help with horse camp for kids at my barn both days, and to film both my riding lessons on my cell phone... basically, he is the BEST husband EVER! <3 we had lunch with friends yesterday and church today... and he goes back to work tomorrow and i go back to helping with horse camp. we need another day to this weekend, i think :D

i'm loving these Pixi Lash Nourish Makeup Remover Pads! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). they are round pads that are pre-soaked in makeup remover and come in a little white tub with a screw lid. you get 80 pads for $10, which to me means 40 uses, 25 cents per use. i did try just using one pad for both eyes, and it did work... but they work much better when you use two and have the full amount of remover to soak onto each eyelid.

the ease of these is the lack of fuss... i love lack of fuss. you don't have to deal with pouring liquids and stuff... just grab two of these babies and you're ready to go. you hold them gently on your lids and lashes for around 30 seconds or so... per usual, i never actual pay attention to time. i do gently press my upper and lower lids around my finger with the pad on it to really get the remover soaked in. then... the makeup wipes away. i do agree that it dissolves makeup as it seems to slide off, rather than flake off. since i don't use waterproof makeup, i don't know how these do on that... sorry! i like that these have Argan oil in them to keep your lids and lashes moisturized. just remember, these are eye makeup remover pads and so are not meant to remove all the makeup from your entire face! you can use the two you use on your eyes to help break up what's on your face, but to get the rest off, you will need something else. for your stubborn eye makeup, this is an excellent choice!!

Lash Nourish Makeup Remover Pads retails for $10. Pixi products are sold exclusively at Target stores,, and!! it looks like Lash Nourish Makeup Remover Pads are only on Pixi's website right now, THIS is the direct link.

Happy Sunday! Ria :)

Bioderma Micellar Water Sensibio H2O

it's a new week! i hope you are already having a fantastic one :) i'm taking the day to get stuff done at home and for the blog... which i'm massively behind on, obviously! tomorrow i have a riding lesson, not sure who on as while thankfully Echo is on the mend, it will still be a couple months before she can even start being ridden again... and then we will be working on getting her back into being a strong, fit girl :D

today i have Bioderma Micellar Water Sensibio H2O to share! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). this product is the original micellar product that i've been hearing about for years, but wasn't available in the US... so, i was really excited to give it a go when i was offered the opportunity!

frankly, i wasn't really expecting to like this product. having tried out the US drugstore answer to this, which did not work at all for me, i figured Bioderma would be the same. WRONG! i now get why all the other countries rave about it!

i saturate two cotton rounds with with the product, then leave it pressed against my eyes for a bit. i usually half open my eyes to get the undersides of my top lashes and the bottom lashes as well. once i feel i've done both the tops and bottoms of my lashes (i have no specific amount of time... probably 15-30 seconds) i simply wipe the eye make up away! it is SO easy and works exactly as it proclaims to. the more layers of mascara you have on, the more swipes you will have to take... or, just let the product sit on it a bit longer before wiping away! i have not tried it with waterproof mascara as i don't use it, sorry i don't have an opinion on that for those of you who do. after using the cotton rounds to remove the eye makeup, i then flip them over and wipe them over my whole face to remove face makeup. it doesn't usually get it all, but it makes it much easier when i use makeup removing wipe!

the scent is not strong at all, and i have used it with my contacts in with no issues. if you get a lot in your eyes it can burn a little, but flushing them with water makes it go away!

in the US, you can purchase Bioderma Micellar Water Sensibio H2O at THIS is the direct link to their Bioderma page that has loads of other products by the brand as well. the 100ml retails for $6.90, the 250ml for $11.90!

Happy Monday! Ria :)
