Orly Breathable Give Me A Break

well, Tucker managed to throw (lose) one of his shoes yesterday, so no riding today! i'm hoping he got one put on today so that we can have our jump lesson tomorrow... we'll see :) i ended up going grocery shopping, there's still not a lot that Mama Pawlish feels like eating after her surgery and we were out of pretty much all of it! i don't know why grocery shopping always takes such a long time... but somehow it always does.

i've been trying out the two sample polishes Orly sent me from their new Breathable line, and i'm ready to tell you my thoughts! today we're checking out Give Me A Break (press sample), a plum creme. it applies really easily and is opaque in two coats. the Breathable polishes are able to be used with out a base or top coat, and also act as a treatment for your nails! read my post about the line HERE.

i used Give Me A Break as directed with no base or topper... which made it difficult for my nails to dry, as for some reason polish struggles to dry on me. the polish chipped on me fairly quickly, but i do work outside with my hands all the time, which awfully hard on your nails... plus, my nails peel, which means that the actual nail comes off, not the polish! once the polish had flaked off down to my healthy nail, it stayed on much better. my nails just really do better with a topcoat... which also would have upped the shine on them. they dry shiny, but not super glossy.

two coats Give Me A Break.

in the press release there is supposed be a clear polish called Treatment + Shine, but i am unable to find anywhere to buy it. i think this would solve the topcoat issue, as you you lose the benefits of the oxygen passing through the passing the polish if you use a regular topcoat!

you can buy Orly Breathable polishes at Ulta,, and! they retail for $8.99 on both. these polishes are currently buy 1 get 1 50% off at Ulta, THIS is the direct link.

next up is Orly Breathable Barely There. Happy Wednesday! Ria :)

*the products indicated are press samples provided to me for review. these are my honest opinions.*
