Pixi Beauty Beauty Blush Duo + Kabuki in Peach Honey and Rose Gold

today was great... sunny and warm with a jump lesson! couple rough spots in the lesson, but i stayed on and Echo worked really hard for me :) looking forward to a trail ride tomorrow morning. i'm watching 'Stick It' as i write this... i forgot how much i love to have it on in the background while i'm blogging! what's your fave mindless movie?

we're finishing up our *extended* week of Pixi Beauty today with their Beauty Blush Duos + Kabuki! i was sent Peach Honey for review, and i bought Rose Gold myself because it's so pretty. these are one pan products that are half blush and half highlighter and come with a small kabuki brush. they retail for $18.

i don't find myself using the little Kabukis, i prefer to use a dense brush with these so i can pick up as much product as possible!

the powders are really soft and easy to use. they are not ultra pigmented, which might be a plus for people who aren't into a super strong cheek. for those of us that like our cheeks to walk into the room before we do, Peach Honey can be easily built up, while Rose Gold is going to stay more subtle. Mama Pawlish is a huge fan of Rose Gold on me, she loves a light, delicate makeup look.

these highlights aren't going to be in your face gleams, but a nice, subtle shimmer. in the photos below, the first one is of Peach Honey (under an Ott light) and the second is of Rose Gold (natural lighting). i'm wearing Peach Honey with Pixi Natural Contour Powder (pr sample), they blend nicely together! as you can see, Rose Gold is ultra natural, but very pretty. i do wish it could be built up more. i think Rose Gold is only going to work for pretty light skintones, but Peach Honey should work for a large variety!

Pixi Beauty Blush Duos retail for $18. you can find them and other Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!!

Peach Honey isn't available through Target at all, you have to buy that beauty on Pixi's site :)

Happy Tuesday! Ria :)

Pixi Lash Line Ink in Black Silk

today was really nice! church this morning, then lunch with Mr. Pawlish, Mama Pawlish, and two of our close friends... we'll call them Couple Pawlish ;) now, i'm just hanging out, blogging and watching The Only Way Is Essex! i'm pretty obsessed with it, it's a British reality show about 20-somethings in Essex, England :D the only place to watch it in the US is with a paid Hulu subscribtion... worth every penny. let me know if you watch it, too!!

today we are checking out Pixi Lash Line Ink in Black Silk! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's a new product from Pixi, a marker style liquid liner which retails for $14.

Black Silk is a matte black... nicely dark, but not the blackest black out there. this is one of the few marker style liners that don't seem to dry up as i'm using them, leaving me unable to get nice lines by the end! i do still prefer liquid liners that have a well to dip into, but of all the ones i've tried thus far, it's for sure my favorite. it's tip is very pointed and has a slight bit of flex to it, which makes me prefer it over Pixi Cat Eye Ink in Intense Black (press sample), which has a hard, slanted tip.

this lasts well, but it's not waterproof. if you sweat a lot, or cry... it will move! i didn't have as much trouble with it moving on the lid, but the flick definitely broke up from sweat. it may fade a little as you wear it, but i think on me the faded look comes more from getting eyeshadow transfer on it... this happens to me with every liner thaitnks to my hooded eyes! if Pixi decides to expand the color selection for Lash Line Ink, i would LOVE to see it in a navy blue! other than Black Silk, there is a dark brown named Velvet Cocoa... i haven't seen that one in person though.

Lash Line Ink retails for $14. Pixi products are sold exclusively at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!!

Happy Sunday! Ria :)

Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Baby Bare

today was mostly spent on errands... the big one being getting both Mr. Pawlish's car and my car to the dealership. Mr. Pawlish's car had a recall that needed to be fixed, and my car had a slow leak in one of the tires... thankfully, it was just a nail and they were able to patch it! i love the way my big wheels look... but when it comes to buying new tires... ouch. totally doing the happy dance that it was just a nail :D

to finish up the Pixi week, we are going to have three color cosmetic posts. color cosmetics are probably my fave thing to play with... pretty much tied with nails! if you are unfamiliar with the term, color cosmetics refer to makeup products like blush, eyeshadow, lipstick... the beat goes on and on :)

first up is Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Baby Bare! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). i have tried several of their Brilliance Balms, but this one is my fave so far. it has a slight, slight minty feel and a definite balmy feel. not nearly as slippery as a lip gloss, but not waxy... i love slip in my lip products. if you rub your lips together a lot (i do it constantly), it can get a little patchy if you look closely... not to the point that it bothers me, i don't think it's noticeable to anyone else!

Baby Bare is described by Pixi as a peachy-nude... on me i think it pulls to more of a light, warm pink!

as with all makeup, the color will look a little different on everyone... i'm ultra fair, to give you a frame of reference!

Pixi Brilliance Balms retail for $14. you can find them and other Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!!

i just realized we are going to be going a bit over a week... two more posts to go!

Happy Friday! Ria :)

Pixi Glow Tonic

had a really awesome jumping lesson on Echo today! she was really good and i'm really happy with how we are coming along :) AND it was an absolutely gorgeous day! warm and sunny... just perfect. supposedly it is supposed to start raining again next week... hopefully it won't linger if it does. i don't want to go the drudgery of all this rain we've had lately again! although...con it does make the plants happy :)

continuing on with Pixi week, today we are checking out their Glow Tonic facial toner which retails for $15! i haven't ever been sent this product, but after reading so many rave on it, i just had to try it for myself. i first bought the tiny travel size of Glow Tonic, which actually lasted a couple weeks and gave me a good idea of what it was going to do for my skin. after that, i have bought two full sized bottles from Target... i never want to be without it!

while the travel size bottle has a regular bottle opening, the full size has a nice insert that will only allow a little liquid to pass through at a time! on Pixi's website there is a giant size... i'm thinking about ordering it, but i always wait until the last minute and have to buy at Target so i don't run out. #toolazy

i have to say... the hype is true!! something about the combination of Aloe Vera, Ginseng, and 5% Glycolic Acid is just magical. i think the 5% Glycolic Acid which is a strong chemical exfoliant is the star of the show... it really keeps skin fresh by taking off a little bit with every use. my skin is looking the best it ever has, and a lot of that can be attributed to this product! my skin has a true glow to it and any acne that the retinoid gel doesn't take care of, this product has gotten under control.

my only complaint with this is that i can't use it if i'm going to be wearing makeup... somehow, the acid must react with most foundations to cause your face to really burn! i do use it in the morning when i'm not going to be wearing makeup, i haven't found it to make my face burn very much if it's just used with a moisturizer... sweat will sometimes cause a little bit, but not nearly like foundation!

i use this product immediately after cleansing my face at night (as you would with most toning face products). i prefer to use a facial cotton round to wipe it on with as opposed to a cotton ball... i think you use less product! if i use it in the morning, i find i just need to use Glow Tonic... no washing necessary! whenever i use it, i also wipe down my neck and chest in addition to my face.

so, basically... i think everyone should give this product a try, it's fantastic! if you've already tried it... let me know how it worked for you :D

Glow Tonic retails for $15. you can find it and other Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!!

Happy Wednesday! Ria :)

You're Still The One!... Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

met up with Mr. Pawlish at a food court for dinner... nothing like chili cheese fries and a meatball sub! :D i hadn't had chili cheese fries in years... oh man, they are SO good. sadly, i was only at the store for boring vitamins... not yummy beauty stuff!

but... speaking of yummy beauty stuff... i just had to circle back to Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist! i knew it just had to be part of my 'You're Still The One!' series as it is a product i use every single time i apply makeup. my first bottle was sent to me as a press sample, but i have bought two bottles since then, it retails for $15. when i got another bottle in this month's sample box i knew it was time to give it its own post. i am super thankful to receive another bottle because i'm at the dregs of my others! you can check out my original post on Makeup Fixing Mist HERE. i reviewed it in conjunction with Pixi Quick Fix Bronzer :)

Makeup Fixing Mist is a makeup setting spray with multiple uses... here's what Pixi has to say about it!

Before makeup: extends makeup wear.
After makeup: sets makeup & adds a soft-focus finish.
Anytime: refreshes makeup, hydrates and balances.

i have found that for me, it works best before and after makeup... i don't find myself using it throughout the day. however... i also  don't ever travel around with it, so i guess i'm not the best example for that! it works SO well to help keep your makeup in place... you definitely want to use it before and after to really keep your makeup clinging on and looking fresh.
before use, you'll want to give the bottle a good shake to make sure all the parts are well-mixed. i hold it about 8 inches from my face and really cover my face. i think i probably use too much... but it certainly doesn't hurt anything! when using it to set your makeup, either make sure your mascara is dry or use the Mist before putting on your mascara... you will get raccoon eyes O.O this still happens to me every so often when i'm in a hurry. also, when setting your makeup make sure not to hold the sprayer too close to your face as it does not come out in a very fine mist... i'm hoping new bottles will spray like Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist which has an ULTRA fine sprayer... a true mist!
i am, sadly, a very sweaty human, so i use Makeup Fixing Mist along with a mattifying cream primer... these make for a serious makeup holding team! i use the Mist first, then the cream primer, then Mist again once all my make up is on. the finish the Mist gives is a little dewy, so depending on my mood i sometimes add a little powder over it... sometimes not!
i really just adore this product, i can't imagine my makeup life without it! <3

Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist retails for $15. you can find it and other Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!!

Happy Tuesday! Ria :)

Pixi Hydrating Milky Serum

the weather here today has been bizarre... perfect sunny morning, then switching between sun, clouds, and intense thunderstorms this afternoon! i'm really hoping the weather gets over itself and settles down for my lesson tomorrow. i'm also hoping to be able to ride outside... it's so much better than the indoor :D

continuing on with our Pixi funsies, today we are checking out their Hydrating Milky Serum which retails for $24. i just got sent this as a press sample... but i actually had already bought it months ago and am almost done with that initial bottle so i have really tested this baby out!

Hydrating Milky Serum is designed to really infuse your skin with moisture and keep it looking and feeling its absolute best. the Rosehip Oil and Vitamin C help your skin look plump and radiant. i know i'm always looking for the next great thing to make my skin look even better! it claims to give a burst of hydration without a heavy feel... but i do think it feels heavier than cream or gel serums do.

this serum is well named as it absolutely looks a lot like milk... not whole milk, though... more like skim :D  as you see in the photo, it comes with a dropper... but i read a lot of reviews saying that it was really hard to get the serum in and out of the dropper. as it is more thick than a regular liquid, i can easily see that happening. to avoid this issue altogether, i simply don't use the drop per at all and tap a little out into my hands... problem solved!

you can absolutely use this serum morning and night, but i found it to peel when applying makeup over it... making a real mess of your look! i use this product only at night :) i use some pretty intense skincare, but for most people, you would use this product after cleansing and toning, and before your moisturizer. i use it nightly after cleansing and toning, but before my retinoid gel (i use the highest strength available, so the extra boost really helps my skin!). finally, i use a traditional night cream. if you have ultra oily skin, you may only need this at night time... but i find it works best for me in conjunction with a moisturizer.

Hydrating Milky Serum retails for $24. you can find it and other Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!!

Happy Monday! hope your week is wonderful! Ria :)

Pixi H2O Skindrink

Mr. Pawlish and i spent the day at home, catching up on recorded tv shows. definitely one of our favorite ways to spend a Saturday :D we are so not party people. plus, the doggies love having both of us home to hang out with them all day, so it's a win win, for sure!

the next Pixi product i want to share with you all is their new H2O Skindrink! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). retailing at $22, it's a gel formula moisturizer which gives the skin a lovely silky texture once applied. it contains what Pixi calls 'waterdrop technology' which is supposed to actually infuse skin with hydration!

i've been testing out H2O Skindrink for about two months and i have to say... i'm really impressed! i love using this product whenever i'm not planning to wear makeup... it gives my oily skin just a little too much slip to be able to really keep makeup in place. if you have drier skin, it might be great under makeup... it makes your skin really soft and silky. it has Aloe Vera and Green Tea in it, which are great ingredients for skin. H2O Skindrink keeps my skin well hydrated, which i really need since i spend lots of time outside. i think the fact that it's a gel is my favorite thing about this product... so easy to apply and feels so yummy on the skin!

H2O Skindrink retails for $22. you can find it and other Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!!

Pixi Moisturizing Cleansing Cloths

meant to spend today working on blog stuff... instead spent most of the day with Mama Pawlish at Walmart! somehow we can't seem to just run in and out of that place, it always turns into an epic trip that lasts like four hours. i actually got most of the things i needed in there this time... i've been known to leave with nothing i went in for after all that time!

i'm going to kick off a week of Pixi reviews today! i have a few products from the last couple sample boxes i received that i've really had a chance to test out and give you in depth opinions on them... several of them i actually had already bought for myself :D

today we are going to take a look at Pixi Moisturizing Cleansing Cloths. (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). these babies contain 40 facial wipes and retail for $10.

when i first received these i was trying to use them as makeup removers... i don't know why i got confused, they say nothing about makeup remover on the package! Pixi does make some makeup removing wipes... but these are definitely not them :D they just don't have what it takes to remove makeup, even using multiple wipes you will still be left with residue.

on to what this product IS actually made for... skin cleansing! these wipes are infused with Aloe Vera and Camellia Oil which are quite soothing and refreshing for the skin. i like wipes to be more wet than these are, i would call them slightly damp... i prefer mine to be more baby wipe consistency. the scent is quite light and doesn't bother my picky asthma. i wouldn't use these as my nightly face cleanser, but for a quick fix in the morning to refresh your face or to cleanse your face after a long day before falling into bed they are great. i think these really shine as on the go wipes... perfect to throw in your exercise bag to use after a workout! as a rider, something like this is ideal to use if your heading somewhere after riding and don't want to show up with dirt and who knows what else all over your face :D obviously, you can use these all over your body, so if you need a quick cleanup on your chest or arms as well as your face (like i often do!) these are perfect.

these retail for $10. you can find them and other Pixi products at Target stores, www.Target.com, and www.PixiBeauty.com!!

i have many more funsies coming up, so check back often :D

Happy Friday! Ria :)

China Glaze Lite Brites... We Got The Beet

had a great dressage lesson today... stayed in the saddle, and that was the major goal of the day :D it's pretty humid despite the temperature being fairly lowly, which made it much easier to sweat and get in a better workout... i always feel like i'm not really working hard enough if i'm not sweating!

we are finishing off China Glaze Lite Brites today with We Got The Beet! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). i adore this color, it's a party on your nails type of color... warm purple with gold shimmer!? sign me up! this is one you can wear as a fairly sheer glaze... it can be built up to full opacity on its own, though. however, i much prefer it over a white creme base, with that it totally POPS right off the nail! with all the shimmer particles it will dry down fairly dull, so you'll want to add a glossy topcoat. it may eat your topcoat, so you may want to reapply to keep up the gloss as needed.

one coat FingerPaints Base Coat For Neons (press sample), two coats We Got The Beet, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

it's WAY more sparkly in person... just yummy :D

you can find the China Glaze Lite Brites collection at Ulta and Sally Beauty Supply... make sure to check out China Glaze on their website, www.ChinaGlaze.com!

can't believe how long it took to share this collection... sorry to keep you guys waiting so long. life has been pretty crazy, but i THINK it's finally settled down. thank you so much for hanging in there with me!

Happy Thursday! Ria :)

China Glaze Lite Brites... Papa Don't Peach

whew! yesterday's jump lesson didn't go as planned. we worked on the dreaded indoor figure 8... and i managed to fall off over a tiny jump. a little humiliating, but it was definitely a learning experience of things i need to NOT do!

Papa Don't Peach is today's China Glaze Lite Brites polish! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's an ultra sparkly orange shimmer with strong red undertones. the shimmers are mostly golden and really pop in the sunshine. it's SO sparkly... i can't say it enough :D it's pretty sheer, so if you like glazes you can wear it on its own... i tried it that way and didn't love it, so i put it over a white creme base and found perfection!

one coat FingerPaints Base Coat For Neons (press sample), two coats Papa Don't Peach, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

China Glaze Lite Brites... Whip It Good

dreary, rainy day here in Maryland... which means my jumping lesson will be in the indoor. i'd much rather ride outside, silly Echo is way more spooky in there! it is really nice to have the option to ride in the rain, though :) a lot of places don't have an indoor, so when rains, you either get wet or don't ride.

Whip It Good is today's China Glaze Lite Brites polish! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). the name of this one has me singing :D (when a problem comes along, you can whip it!). it's an 80s song, so you might need to look it up if you're on the younger side ;) Whip It Good is a bright yellow creme with green undertones. i put it over a white creme base to really make it pop, but it's not quite to that screaming neon level. it's not the greatest on my skin tone (extremely fair)... i think the deeper the skin tone, the better it will look! it dries to a little bit of a shine, but definitely needs a glossy topcoat.

one coat FingerPaints Base Coat For Neons (press sample), two coats Whip It Good, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

China Glaze Lite Brites... Lip Smackin' Good

whew! glad to have gotten through the past four days... it was all a bit much for me. when i get stressed and tired, it kicks off my neurological spells... which stinks. Mr. Pawlish and left at 4AM on Friday to head to North Carolina for our friend's wedding. the wedding was beautiful, but i was alone a lot because Mr. Pawlish was in the wedding and i was not. i did pick up some goodies, though! we got home at 2 or 3AM on Sunday morning... and i had to get up to sing in church the following morning! despite a few wiffles, the other two girls and i did a good job with the song :) so glad to be done with that weekend!

today's China Glaze Lite Brites polish is Lip Smackin' Good... and i think it's one of the best of the collection! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's a bright salmon pink creme... i'm going to go ahead and call it a creme, although it does have some HIDDEN shimmers. the camera actually picked them up a bit, but they were hard to find even in bright sun, and forget about it inside. in some lights it appears more pink than a warm salmon... but it's gorgeous period. i feel like i didn't get quite the color right in this picture, but i tried! this is definitely going to be staying in my collection! i love it over a white creme... it's not a true neon, but it just POPS over white and makes it even more bright. without the neon pigments it dries shiny... but it's better with a glossy topcoat.

one coat FingerPaints Base Coat For Neons (press sample), two coats Lip Smackin' Good, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

you can find the China Glaze Lite Brites collection at Ulta and Sally Beauty Supply... make sure to check out China Glaze on their website, www.ChinaGlaze.com!

i just saw the Lite Brites display at Ulta and it is BEAUTIFUL :D

here's to a relaxing week! Happy Monday! Ria :)

China Glaze Lite Brites... None Of Your Risky Business

yet another rainy day in Maryland... seems like everybody's bummed about it! i had to run errands today, and everyone i met was so sad it was raining... AGAIN. in a way i'm glad, because we really need the rain... but it's definitely not fun to be out in since it's a cold rain. a warm summer rain is something else entirely :D

definitely time for a happy color! China Glaze None Of Your Risky Business from their Lite Brites collection (press sample, kindly provided to me for review) definitely fits the bill. it's a happy orange creme that is super close to the color of an Ulta bag... which is one of my FAVE places and one place where you can get this polish for yourself! i applied it over a white creme base, but i don't think it made much of a difference... maybe made it a touch brighter. i used two coats for full opacity, it's not super streaky like some orange cremes... just make sure not to have too much on your brush when applying. dries down to a little shine... but definitely add a glossy topcoat!

it was difficult to photograph, but i think it's pretty close to real life in this one.

two coats None Of Your Risky Business, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

China Glaze Lite Brites... Hot Flash

fantastic jumping lesson with Echo today! it rained a bit, but stopped when we actually headed out of the barn to go jump... which i'm very thankful for. i can ride in the rain... but that doesn't mean i like to do it! somehow i have so much to get done this week before Friday, when Mr. Pawlish and i leave in the wee hours for a wedding... but it'll work itself out :)

today's China Glaze Lite Brites polish is Hot Flash! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's a bright, cherry red creme that applies easily and is opaque in two coats. i put it over a white creme base, but i think you get pretty much the same effect simply using it by itself... it's not as bright as i thought it would be. because it doesn't have all those neon pigments, it dries down to a little shine... but i would definitely add topcoat to really gloss it up!

two coats Hot Flash, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

China Glaze Lite Brites... I Got A Blue Attitude

woo, new week, new chance to try and get myself together! i'm still having issues with my wrist, but i'm just going to ignore it and ride anyway... a week's rest is already too much. i got some swatching done today... the weather has been horrible here, and the only nice days were chock full of errands. and now we're back to a gross day! brights photograph much better in the sun, but i did my best... those will be coming soon.

I Got A Blue Attitude is today's China Glaze Lite Brites polish! (press samples, kindly provided to me for review). it's a dark periwinkle creme... a true blurple (blue/purple). it goes on really smoothly and is opaque in two coats. sadly, the shimmer you see in the bottle does not show up on the nail at all :( the dry down has a bit of shine... but you're going to want to glossy up this one with topcoat!

two coats I Got A Blue Attitude, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

you can find the China Glaze Lite Brites collection at Ulta and Sally Beauty Supply... make sure to check out China Glaze on their website, www.ChinaGlaze.com!

the whole time i've been working with this polish i have been singing the polish name along to the tune of 'New Attitude' from Patti LaBelle :D

China Glaze Lite Brites... Let's Jam

okay! back on the China Glaze Lite Brites train! i'm still reeling from my crazy week... which seems to have ended with my messed up wrist. i decided to only ride once this week, and i didn't use my right hand at all to try and rest it. i'm wearing a brace and hoping that next week it will be 100%... either way, back into riding hard next week!

today's China Glaze Lite Brites polish is Let's Jam! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's not a neon, but it's a delightful warm, light purple... almost pastel, but not quite! what makes it really special is the subtle blue shimmer running throughout it. it's not super in your face, but it's definitely there! be careful on applying this one, you may need to wipe your brush off again after you've started applying as a lot wants to be on the brush at once. it dries down pretty dull, and not attractive in my opinion... so definitely grab your high shine topcoat for this one!

two coats Let's Jam, one coat Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

Gosling's Original ChopSaver Lip Care

so sorry for the lack of posts... it's been a super stressful few days. Mr. Pawlish has shingles and my dog Jewels had a terrible allergic reaction. plus, i've had nothing but struggle getting the maintenance done on my house... i'm hoping today will be the last day of it... but who knows! i haven't even been to the barn since last Tuesday :O so ready for this house stuff to be over with.

today i have Gosling's Original ChopSaver Lip Care to share with you all! (press sample, kindly provided to me for review). it's a lip balm that was developed by Dan Gosling to keep lips really healthy and moisturized. Gosling is a professional trumpet player, so he needs to make sure his lips are always in primo condition!

i tried out ChopSaver in Fresh Citrus! the formula is quite waxy without much slip to it... you can tell it's designed to really stay on. i'm not a huge fan of the Fresh Citrus flavor... it's a little strange to me. however, i am super picky about scents! i think the extra waxiness adds to the fact that i think it smells and tastes off to me... i generally use products with a LOT of slip! Mama Pawlish gave it a go as well, and agreed with me that the smell/taste was a bit strange. she's going to use up the rest of the balm, but doesn't think she will repurchase. i believe this balm is perfect for people that stress their lips a lot... such as musicians, and those that spend a lot of time outside in harsh conditions!

find out more about ChopSaver at their website, www.chopsaver.com/. you can purchase the balm on the site and find brick and mortar stores where you can buy it in person!

have you tried this balm out? what did you think?

hoping for a better a week... hope yours is wonderful, too! Ria :)
